Seicento My 2.0 16v Seicento Project

Introduction

As most of you already know i was thinking of creating a 2.0 16v fiat seicento......looking at the conversion, its already causing a few issues and wont be straight forward... but im still giving it a go!!

I need to work out how to get the hub / drive shaft combo sorted.... brake callipers + lines need to be worked out, and then the most important, keeping the rear end on the floor when braking!! as i didnt realise how light these cars are with nothing in the rear...

Ive got a T reg seicento sporting with 12months MOT and 6 Months tax, so this is a good base to get started on.

So far the car has been gutted, and im in the process of cutting out the wiring i wont be needing.

Im off on a 300 mile round trip tomorrow to pick the engine up, and then the battle of fitting it in will begin!
Actually, does anyone have any tips for fitting the spoiler, as in how to mark where the holes are to drill in the boot lid lol

Defo just tiger seal- iv removed a fair few and it aint easy... but dont need to drill etc...

Amazing project- keep it up!

what sorta spoiler you got?!
There are two little grooves (one on each side) on normal seicento spoilers
i thought they were for bolts till i took one off

Looks like an abarth one, same as the skirts but they have seicento engraved in them, so im thinking they are replica stuff...

Ive double checked and there are definatly bolts to bolt the thing on...

Just finished painting and polishing for the day... heres my rocker cover MK2 lol....

If i get the car driving, then it will be put on as soon as i get to trax... Im not risking it getting scratched or damaged lol... annoyed me having to redo it all....

OK, if you want to bolt on (but Sikaflex/TigerSeal as well!) -- first, find some studding to fit the bolt hole. Get someone to turn the end of as many bits of studding as there are bolt holes to a sharp point. Insert studding into bolt holes so that a little of the point as poss is sticking out. With an accomplice holding the spoiler in place, give it a whap over the bolt holes. Drill through the resulting marks, remove studding. Then, find some tube that'll take the bolts and cut it to a snug fit between the two panels of the rear wing (this is to prevent the panels closing up. Big washer on the end, Sika on the spoiler, bolt it up.

Never done it that way, so you may need to modify the process a little, but that's the general idea.

lol 6 holes later and ive got holes where i need them haha....

Bought some black tigerseal so when it stops raining il clean it all up and fit.. for the time being my holes are covered by tape..... proper job ;)

Also picked up my loom... early c20xe loom without the lambda... which is great.. if the loom didnt look as if it has been butchered by edward scissor hands... going to need a few pin2 pin tests and a minor repair here and there.... roll on tomorrow :D

Looms in, ecu is in, and new Coolant Temp Sensor is in... and it runs.. sweet as a nut (just needs the throttle adjusting and a few other bits and bobs)...

Now just rushing to get all the other loose ends tied up so its drivable :D

lol took it for a 5 mile drive... for the first half it was great.. stupidly quick and thats trying to drive it normally lol... Then i have seem to have lost gears... not sure if its down to the selector or clutch itself (as i cant see a damn thing outside now)...

It doenst want to engage gears, and when it does it grinds into place.... then when driving it bunny hops haha, proper learner style...

Will have a look tomorrow providing the weather is half decent..

gutted!!

Much wheelspin?

what did you do to get it on the road legally as its time for my mates corsa red top to get on the road but dont know where to start i noticed you said earlier you got an engineers report and there is a place near me that can do one but how does it work with the emissions having a straight through exhaust and running no lamba sensor. basically the car is road ready just need to know where to start to get it road legal.

cheers gregor
