Well that video shows that HID upgrades can have bad results, so if people are passing HID upgraded Fiats through MOTs I'd like to see a comparison photo to what was in the video.

Applesei, if your only input into the topic is to direct offensive remarks and if you have nothing constructive to say on the matter, perhaps you shouldn't contribute at all.

:ROFLMAO:

Anyway I think HID's look foooking w@nk now. There was a time when I liked them but they look chav these days on most vehicles.

I get more problems from newer cars with factory fitted HID's blinding me than aftermarket ones.(n)

i agree with that, i say dont waste your time and get some decent bulbs like osram nightbreakers always been good to me, plus they are a lot cheaper (and if the bulbs die you dont have to take a loan out to get replacement bulbs:p, HID Bulbs are very dear or is that just me £50-60 for replacements how many nightbreakers bulbs is that!).

to add i think some factory rules compared to aftermarket rules are a bit stupid, i.e i had an LED number plate bulb in my car it was removed during a service because the bloke said they are not allowed because they dont light the whole plate, but why do most BMW's and Merc's have them as standard??? i have to admit sometimes you can't see all of there number plate with them either.

Heres me thinking your usrname was probably to do with your surname, when it in fact its to do with your nature ;)

Like window tints, its a bit of a grey area the HID's, there are laws there but there are ways around them and in most cases anything illegal goes unpunished, maybe people are flounting the laws, maybe and more likely there is a lack of knowledge on the subject.

I agree with Dave it probably needs looking at and tweeking, then perhaps we all might have a clear answer where we stand

I still stick by my original point, photgraphing the car at the MOT station when its having its headlights adjusted is bordering on anal/geek/nerd whatever you want to call it, no one does it and no one ever will, sure people take photographs of car on the ramps like above, but no one ever has done it for a headlight being adjusted, if you do that and find that interesting and worthwhile, you arent living you are existing and you may as well do yourself in.

I wasnt the only one i may add that thought the above suggestion by yourself was a bit weird

Is that ok Mr Wild? I bet you are a big softy really ;)

The law on headlamps is crap. Simple as that.

What is wanted? light to be projected in a certain pattern with certain 'no go' zones.

How does the law currently try to achieve this? By banning aftermarked HID kits?

How should the law achieve it? By requiring the light to pass certain tests at MOT or at fitting i.e. no light on 'No-go' zones and illumination in 'required' zones.

Sounds to me that the law on HIDs was brought in by someone who didn't understand the technology or has a grudge against it.

I've just ordered 2 "illegal" HID upgrades on ebay for the coupe and the Punto :D :ROFLMAO:.

At least the colour i've picked is White not Blue. As long as their aligned properly whats the problem?. I get blinded by way more people with poorly adjusted halogens than with HID's.
