Fed up of stone chips, hidden pot holes and loose surfaces on UK roads?

Follow the link and sign the petition to stop surface dressing.

"An online petition to try and get the practice of resurfacing roads with a method called surface dressing stopped has already attracted more than 2500 signatures.

The ePetition was started by Christopher Caswell and calls for an end to surface dressing; the method of adding a layer of liquid tar and then gravel that poses such a danger to motorcyclists.

Surface dressing is considered a cheap way of adding extra life to roads but can leave motorcyclists suffering weeks of danger because of the piles of gravel left behind.

The damage to cycle parts and fairings can be significant as the stones are flung from sticky tyres, and the shot-blasting effect from other road users can be both destructive, and painful".

Signed!! It's horrendous stuff!! Nightmare when the Niece or nephew fell over on it (almost all of the local roads have been done round here)

The highways agency redressed most of the roads in my village just in time for the harvest tractors, trailers and machinery to churn it all up. :bang:

So now we have a gravel rally stage with hidden pot hole (because they are never, ever repaired before the dressing goes down) and ripples on every bend the size of small speed ramps.

Signed. The rippling happened in the village where I used to live, there's a hill that always turns into a river when the rain comes and - literally within a few days of redressing - the rain came pretty heavily and left half the road looking like a walnut whip.
