I'm more concerned about the grammer in the thread title.
If "English" people can't get the language right, what hope does anyone else have??
I can't speak for Britain, having never been that far North. But, considering that I am white and in Australia, I feel I can speak on the Immigration side of it...
My country was founded on Immigration, hell the first White people on the East coast were mostly criminals from your land. Back at the turn of the century, there was a massive influx of English thanks to the "10 pound Pom" sceme. After the Second World War, Italians emigrated en masse to the Great Southern Land, looking for the dream of work and fortune. Likewise the Greeks, the Indians, the Congolese, Somalis, I could go on and on and on. Each time there was hatred and shunning of the new group, but eventually (and usually when a new group came along) everyone proudly became "Australian." This massive melting pot of culture, food and diversity wouldn't be the same without it.
Now, you would believe that Muslims are all terrorists and hate everything that capitalism stands for, but do you actually believe that
every Muslim believes that? They are called extremists for a reason. If you want to see the 'christian' version of these extremists, have a google for "Westborough Baptist Church." Scary people, just like the Muslim extremists. But, just like every Christian is not like WBC, neither is every Muslim an extremist. If they were, Australia would be at great risk thanks to one of the largest Muslim populations living in Indonesia, just a few hundred kilometres off our coast.
I do have Congolese, Greek, Italian, Chinese, Turkish, Indonesian, Malaysian, Korean and Anglo-Saxon friends. I believe that my life would not be half as enriched as it is today. I do believe that if you have closed off your mind to not welcome all people into your life in some way, then it is not them who are missing out, it is
YOU. And I feel sorry for you.
