As you're all aware, the forum finally got brought kicking and screaming into the latest decade (literally, that last codebase was from 2013 or something ridiculous).

Along with a new design and all the new features, we are also now looking for a new team to help promote...

 

Still a bit early for you guys, but we've hit 2022 here!

Members Motors is dead, long live Members Motors!

This one took a bit longer to test and complete, but I'm happy to announce that today is the official launch of the new forum garage

Instead of needing to add your favorite posts / threads / images / whatever to your browser bookmarks, we now have our own inbuilt system.

Yes, let's call it v3 as back in 2012 we had v2 - and yes, it's been that long since any major update!

Everything is different now, but as same as I could do it so you don't all get lost

Some parts have been renamed, such as:

Downloads > Resources
Events > Calendar
Gallery > Media...

 

Small new feature here, but you can now select text in a post and a little menu will pop-up to the right, allowing you to quote just that part.

So you can go through a whole page, selecting bits you like, then down at the bottom they will be ready quoted for you

Doesn't work on mobile (yet)...

 

A very useful feature just added (thanks to QuadrifoglioVerde for the idea) is the ability to use the notification bar up the top to let you know about new subscription alerts.

If you wanted to know, but didn't like getting emails (or like emails, but wanted a visual indicator too) then...

 

The mobile site has long been the ugly brother of the main site, it was a simple drop in skin I picked up years ago and never bothered with since.

Yes hurrah and all that, we now keep the memory of Top Gear alive but announcing that we, the FIAT Forum, do now have our very own Cool Wall

It's pretty simple - you go to the new "Cool Wall Forum" (http://www.fiatforum.com/cool-wall/) - place your votes, then every 15 mins the wall...

 

Our downloads library has always been somewhat mischievous, with loads of people always getting the "Token Error" message.

Well, I'm pleased to say the whole system has now been replaced with a much more robust and reliable one.

What I've also done is create a category now for every model, as...

 

- Fixed bug: Classifieds and Guides scroll off screen.
- Fixed bug: After logout and re-login, read topics will be shown as unread again.
- N-in-1: Updated to be able to auto-refresh forum list in every 24 hours.
- Removed app signature.
- Fixed bug: N-in-1 app accounts are not shown above forum...

 

Updated the chat system to run a lot more smoothly.

I know it's not the most popular of features, but at least I can say it works now

 

Venters is looking to wind down a bit on the forum, so is taking early half retirement

You may have had an idea from some previous posts I made, but now we can confirm it - today is the launch of our sister site http://www.chryslerforum.co.uk .

Of course, with the Ypsilon based on the 500 and the Delta off the Bravo - there might be many of you here already that could pop...

 

The big news for this version is that iOS 5 is now supported, so people with the iPAD 1 are in luck!

Other things include push badge support, permission errors and loads and loads of other fixes

A rollup of bug fixes reported since our December update, including:

Fixed bug: app stays on "Connecting to Forum" message under some cases.
Fixed bug: People tab will show online persons twice.
Fixed bug: refresh in Timeline / Participated / Unread sometimes doesn't work.

Well, believe it or not, I think I've finally found a good use for the social groups!

They will now be used as a "Register" of sorts, to see who has what

If you scroll to the bottom of a model forum, you'll now see a new box which lists a random lot of 10 people who are also "Members"...
