Updated the "Notices" section at the top to look a bit nicer and more in tune with the design.

Ok, first thing - you might have noticed the banner at the top changed - thanks again to ThisBitterPill for that

Also new on the agenda, you can now create tables inside posts - they are quite simple, you just put | between columns and enter between rows - for example:

[table]1|2|3...

 

You'll have seen them around the forum promoting our umbrella club "Yorkshire Italia" - but I'm now pleased to announce that they've both joined the mod team

Freebo takes on the Bravo forum, and RusZ goes on the Punto Mk2 section.

Another small change.

When browsing a forum which uses prefixes, you can click the prefix name to filter the view down to just that prefix.

So say for example you're in Members Motors and want to show only the Stilo posts - instead of needing to go down to the filter at the bottom, you can...

After 10 years, I've finally decided it would be a good idea to split the Punto section up ...

Well, actually, after 10 years it's a terrible idea - should have done it ages ago, but anyway.... sorry about that.

So anyway, it's now been split and I've moved over as many threads...

 

We'd like to welcome our two newest moderators - The Beard, who joins Stu as a co-mod of the Panda forum - and Eklipze3k who joins custard as a co-mod of the Cinq/Sei section.

Also - bit of an update on the application process - we've had quite a few, but are going to take our time...

 

Tiny change - if you have a custom avatar set in your profile, this will now appear in the black header bar next to your name. Clicking it is another short cut to the user control panel.

 

Thanks for the reminder atom0007 - I'd forgotten to add this to the black header bar.

I had wanted to get this done on the birthday, but hey, what's a few weeks late?

The forums are now getting busier and busier, with the workload being just a little bit too much for the current team - so we're looking for some fresh faces to join us...

 

Not sure why I never added this before - but anyway.

The first post in your "Members Motors" thread is now always editable - ie the edit time limit has been removed.

So now you can always keep your thread up to date with the latest info at the top.

If someone could do a quick test for me -...

 

Chat system has been further optimised - now uses memcache to store online user lists and friend lists.

Before we needed 1 query per person per minute (to load the online statuses of their friends) - now it's 1 query (and it's a tiny one) total per minute ... :woot:

 

Tiny weeny update - the zIndex of the Lightbox has now been updated to make sure it is displayed above everything else.

This way, when you click an attachment, it will now cover the whole screen and the "Prev" "Next" buttons won't be hidden by the chat bar

(As it was a javascript...

 

For the first time in 6 years, the FIAT Forum gets a redesign

Thanks to ThisBitterPill for designing the most amazing header and for putting up with all my little amendments - you rock sir!

I wanted to move away from a totally blue design and make everything look a bit more fun -...

 

I haven't written a blog entry for a while, even though I've been working on things, so sorry about that.

Anyway, for this entry I'll introduce the new user tagging feature to you.

It's pretty simple actually, but basically allows you to "mention" people in posts by putting a @ mark, then...

 

Simple one this - added a "+1" button to all the threads, next to the "New Reply" button

After the great showing at Stanford, I had a search through the forum and found there is a small, but valid 126 following.

So we've decided to make a dedicated 126 forum - and see how things go.

Updated to the latest version of the mobile skin - it's a bit more flashy, but still not too over the top I think.
