You'll see a new notification counter in the "Notification Dropdown" called "Social Groups" which tells you how many of your (joined) groups have new messages.

The groups with new messages are the bolded ones and once you've read all messages in the group (or used the "mark group as read") this...

Finally, after a lot of procrastination I've got the downloads library online.

Happy to report the server has now been upgraded to support the latest Wincache module which I've now enabled.

It's an Opcode/File/Travelsal caching system which should cut down page generation times by about half and stop some of the freezing which has been going on recently

The old software we used hadn't been updated for almost 2 years and we were really falling behind on what we could offer, so, we now have a nice new one to handle all FF needs

In order to get a better idea of the range of people that use the forum, I've now made it mandatory to enter your Date of Birth, Gender and Country in the user profile.

The "Popup Image Inserter" has now been modified so you can now select from either Gallery photos OR Garage photos.

This means you can now quickly insert your car pictures into posts, by clicking the

icon, then selecting "CND Garage"...

This was due to a load of issues with it which made it incredibly hard to manage and not as useful as it could have been.

It's tiny, but I figured I should log everything.

Tidied up the postbit a little bit (the bit that shows to the left of each post) - it's not finished as I don't think it looks 100% perfect, but it will do for now

 

This is a test, so please don't abuse it by creating millions of useless groups, but any donated member can now create their own social group (which follows their own choice of permissions) in the "Just for Fun", "Seriousness" or 'Risque' categories.

It took a while to get permissions...

 

Now the Panda (the new one) has built up a name for itself, it's time to drop the "(New)" suffix and let it be known as just the "Panda".

This brings it into line with the rest of the models (500, Bravo, etc etc)

There we go, the final step required to get the Social Groups noticed.

You'll now see at the top of each models forum, the latest 3 Social Discussions from the relevant owners group with a link to each - so now you don't need to jump back and forth to see if something new has been posted...

 

If you scroll to the bottom of the main forum page, there is a new sub-block titled "My Social Groups".
