Too good to miss. Film : Serves You Right

One for all us oldies from "the trade" It's just too good to miss so I've relisted it here so none of us miss it.

Go to Talking Pictures TV either on your smart TV or on line. Then go to their "encore" and click search. Type in SERVES YOU RIGHT and enjoy. It's just a delicious slice of yesteryear!

Will have a look now the darker evening are upon us 👍

Just went into TPTV encore on my laptop and entered "serves you right" in the search bar. Looks like the film is still available. Anyone viewed it yet? For us oldies from the trade it's a very amusing reminder of how things often were. Later in the film a new way of working is introduced. I remember oh so well when everyone in the big dealerships were talking about "Flowline Servicing" The idea was that the vehicle would progress down a "line" (even pushing it from station to station in it's cheapest form) with "stations" would be negotiated as per the service schedule. So brakes and suspension at one, lubricants at another etc - I'm sure you get the idea. Nothing outside the service schedule would be done so if pads and disc, for instance, were needed that would be noted on the worksheet but the vehicle's wheels would be refitted and it would carry on down the line to the end. Vehicles requiring no additional work would be valeted and parked up ready for collection. Vehicles where additional work was identified would be held elsewhere until the customer had either authorized the work or declined it. The advantage was supposed to be a greatly increased workshop throughput because nothing was left hanging on a lift until permission or parts etc were obtained. Our boss decided that our premises would require an almost total rebuild to work so we didn't go with it in the end.

If you watch the film I just love the rudimentary diagnostics going on in the first garage - look for the crack down the side of the dizzy cap!

I did look online for it , but apart from description all I found was some company trying to sell a copy for £15.
I always liked old black and white films, one I recall was "Hell Drivers".
Oh yes, with Stanley Baker? and obviously speeded up filming - as Charlie says above.

Here's a link to Talking Pictures TV: https://www.tptvencore.co.uk/ Go there, click on "search" top right of page and a search field will appear just below it. Type in serves you right, click on the magnifying glass icon and wait a few seconds. A new page will open looking like this: https://www.tptvencore.co.uk/search?s=serves you right&pg=1&sort=Latest and if you click on the serves you right displayed - you may have to do this twice I found, not double click but two clicks as it loads a slightly different page, you'll eventually be invited to register before viewing: https://www.tptvencore.co.uk/Video/Serves-You-Right?id=064542de-5967-4e2e-bfd2-836d5623cd39

Honestly this film is a hoot. If you've done your time in the trade you really owe it to yourself to watch it.

No, the lorries arn't speeded up, they are EVs;).
Sadly I am reluctant to register with much these days so I will miss that film. So much seems to be geared to knowing as much as possible about you and then making money selling that information on.
Even my local Doctors Surgery wanted me to register online, I started from their NHS website giving them loads of detail, then found it was trying to steer me towards paying for operations and medications etc. The final completion didn't go through as it was asking for Mob. phone numbers etc. and I am happily in the dark ages and don't have one.
