Seicento Monster Cento/ECU Master Thread

Introduction

Well starting this is well overdue although technically it's still just a car and a big pile of bits at the moment. It will come together quickly though as I have access to a commercial garage in the evenings and on weekends which belongs to a good friend. I'm lucky enough to have another good friend who is a self employed coded welder/fabricator and yet another good friend who owns a powder coating business. Myself, I do electronics so pretty much everything is covered. :D

I'm not going to go into minor details as most of it has been discussed before (especially the engine which was purchased from Gazzaman). However I will answer any questions and will go into detail with the DET 3 setup and installation as there are no UK guides I'm aware of for this.

A 2000 SPI Seicento Abarth (probably manufactured late 1999) which replaces the silver Cinq (SPI Turbocharged) I have recently sold for restoration. The silver chap needed some TLC due to a bad repair from a rear collision before I purchased him. Someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse so I sold him on with the standard engine and pinched Mrs. Honeymonsters Sei after buying her a newer yellow ragtop replacement which I got a good deal on but wasn't really suitable for my project.

The planned spec is as follows, only thing I'm missing is the TB. Now Sorted (thanks Blu!)

I will just post some pictures of the bits for now and then intermittently as I fit them.

I do however need to keep this car mobile to park it back in my workshop so it will be done in big chunks.

One thing though, did not notice this before, are you sure about the lambda bung? Would it not prevent the probe from catching the right amount of exhaust?

(Not that you need lambda at all in a non-MOT country, but still...)

Why's that? :confused:

If anything it's mounted a bit close and might need a heatsink. It also sits at the right (2 o'clock) angle to avoid condensation.

And the length of the bung is intentional:

Your MTX-L gauge kit includes a 1” bung. This bung is supplied to best prolong the life
of your sensor since it will allow the sensor to sit flush with the exhaust pipe. Using a
bung is the preferred method for mounting the O2 sensor for both catalytic and noncatalytic

cars.

Oh, so this for the wideband. I was about to say that I think it is too tall, but I guess they know better.
 
Narrow band... :chin:

With limited inputs on the DET I had a choice of a dual map switch or Narrow band input. The choice was easy, dual map and hopefully at some point a smiley face dash warning light for the second map. :D

Fueling should be close enough with a good tune. (y)

Unfortunately not, two days of very high winds (Monster is outside at the moment) has put me off so I've been working on something else instead. It would hardly be running with these bits anyway still plenty of other bits to do. Desy still hasn't finished the intercooler either.

Stop being so impatient and get back to reverse engineering that ECU. :D
 
Well I ordered an Actuator rod from Forge and a little tiny thing turned up half the length I ordered. :bang:

An email later and two Actuator rods the right size turned up at no extra charge. Superb customer service Forge, well on the ball. (y)

Now I'm still waiting for some assembly paste and bolts the right length for the turbo flange, although I've helicoiled the back fixing and have a Nord lock for it.

Then I need the intercooler finished, but there is an avoidable hold up there so I'll have to wait. :(
 
In all seriousness and with due respect: are you ever going to finish the damn thing? And why am I doing Mr. Blu's motivation job?
