Nearly finished my BTEC national dipolma in Travel and tourism only 2 weeks left :D

I went to the university of life .. :p least keep it lighthearted now.... everyone has different ways and means.. :)

i hate it when people say that.

i bet ive learnt more than most living away from home being at university than people that live at home.
do you know how to set up your gas and electric and pay the bills? well some might... but i would have never have learnt half the stuff i do about being out in the big wide world without having gone to uni.

i'll get my coat....

i like the colour black,,, (yours must be white then kay?? :p)

as for setting up bill and stuff?? its something you have to do end of, no hardship picking up a phone is it??

maybe look at having standing orders, direct debits.. monthly overdraft charges, loan agreements.. ive got the lot.. 700quid a month is already acounted for as soon as my wages go in, so sorting out bills are no probs..

This is getting petty...

If your looking for an argument kay, over nothing have it out with your other half... not me..

frustration over uni work getting on top of you isnt something you should be taking out on others.. and for some reason this thread has become you against everyone else??? what that all about...

chill out.. crack on with your uni stuff :) and stop getting wound up ovvaaarrr nothin.. :) :p

This is true i cant do anything myself and i stayed at home for Uni and learnt pretty much nothing useful there either.

stop trying to cause beef ben, this aint me against anyone. its a healthy debate about uni being pointless or not. i aint spoiling for fights im just putting across my point of view. and tbh this aint got nuffin to do with my current uni load, as a matter of fact im on top of it all now after 4 days in the library slugging it out, not including going home at night and doing more.

and when you say about your bills etc.. thats not what i was getting at.
as volxstu said, he dont know how to do none of that, and i wouldnt of if i hadnt of come to uni and had to fend for myself.
this is getting out of hand, and its in no way a personal dig at you, you;re just taking it to heart, this aint between you and me, its between everyone.

I learnt how to do them living home then moving out once I got a job at 19, but didnt go to Uni and like Steely went to the 'university of life' ... I think my common sense was also found as some students have no common sense at all, or perhaps thats just because i've had more years on this earth and learnt things!

I did training for a chef, then changed direction and did secretarial course.. which got me my break in the NHS, which in turn could see me earning up to about £27k without further training, then when needed to stay at home I took up childminding ... got the relevant exam out the way and the first aid training and that could well pay far more than £30k if I wanted it to and have kids to the full capacity.

No one is right or wrong as to whether they go to uni or not, its your own personal preference and at the end of the day you have to get the job for being you along with your qualifications.
