Still discovering some crazy good 60s psychedelic songs… I hope that my discovery of them spans my entire life despite it being a finished defined period in time. The instrumentals, heavy bass and melodie’s resonate really well in my head. Any of you guys got any recommendations? Some of you probably got to enjoy this stuff as it was fresh off the press.

The song ‘Living Dream’ is also stuck in my head indefinitely this past week…

Try searching “The dukes of the stratosphere “they have some good tunes my love explodes & 25 o’clock, The Eyes rowed out .
“The Prisoners “that were around in the eighties were good live too 👍🏻
Try putting "Easy Rider Sound Track" into you tube and sit back and enjoy, My favourite is the Byrds " Wasn't born to follow". Steppenwolf's "The Pusher" too. Back then we all dreamed of going to California and the Mamas and the Papas "California Dreaming" always takes me right back to those wild free days when I'd just met the futures Mrs J and hadn't a care in the world bombing around in my little old 850 mini! she was more into that sort of stuff and I played it a lot for her. Myself? I was more into the Stones, Animals, stuff like that. A bit later I discovered Sheryl Crow amongst others, how about "Maybe Angels" played loud on a decent system or through cans?

Edit. If you want something different try some "Magic Slim" or a bit of "Billy Strings" - J J Cale anyone? especially if he's playing with Clapton!

Strewth! Far too esoteric for a simple country boy like me I'm afraid. I'd feel well and truly robbed if I had to pay for a ticket. Just another indication the whole world is going to pot! Emperor's new clothes? do you remember that tale anyone?
Not modern at all, it was conceived in the late 1940s and first "performed" in 1952 😎

It stirs a faint memory, somewhere in the mists of my mind, that it was the subject of a report on TV a few years ago? I've never seen a representation of it being performed before though - Bizarre night be an appropriately descriptive word?

Look at it another way, it’s a moment of silence to sit and think/reflect, how often do any of us get the chance to just sit in silence.

As for the emperors clothes, I think that’s playing out in Washington DC right now

The funny thing about that video is that I know that conductor is counting every beat in his head you can almost make it out in his movements. Mean while the orchestra are just checking their nails, thinking about what to have for dinner when they get home.

added a few random ones from each of these artists into a playlist, look forward to giving them a proper listen this week :)

And yes, California Dreaming, funnily enough, was one of the first 60s songs recommended to my by Apple Music a decade ago that started all of this. And this month listening to it a lot as every time I leave the house to walk somewhere and the weathers crap I keep thinking to myself I’ve been for a walkkkkkkk .. on a winters day.. and once you sing that in your head it’s there for hours no going back!

One I never tire of is David Gilmore's guitar playing in Comfortably Numb. Cans on, eyes shut and volume up. Don't think I'll ever grow tired of listening to it.
