no one has suggested that getting a degree is enough to get you a graduate job. you need a good degree in a good subject, so more than half of graduates arent suitable for a graduate job. if you've got a 3rd class degree you've wasted your time getting it, if you've studied a pointless course then you've wasted your time as well. the simple fact is, if you get a 1st or 2:1 is a sensible course you are still only half way to getting a graduate job, the rest depends very much on your personaility, drive, ambition, skills and what you want in life. the figures and stats dont show that.dannyb-with-a-gp;1523107[B said:"Figures seen by the Daily Post show that, on some courses at universities in the region, more than four-fifths of students do not go into jobs after graduation which require a degree.[/b]
Last night, one senior city academic warned that the job market was failing to create enough graduate-level jobs to meet the rising number of people getting a degree."

And you said you had trouble writing an essay for uni? How?!this is an arugment that can carry on for days, that last article agree'd with what i...(snip)...es of that nature massivly flawed and not worth much, if anything.

exactly what im trying to say.
its not just about the degree, it depends on the person
:bang:
my girlfriend is doing a degree but she has no intention of getting a graduate job afterwards, she wants an "easy admin job". getting a degree is something she wants to do for personal satisfaction and to avoid work for a few years. she'll make the grad stats look worse than they really are. she isnt unusual, many students are just looking for a way to avoid working, they wont ever make it to a professional graduate job.
