beam pattern has been marked out for alignment. got some better bulbs on the way (night breakers) so will solder and heat shrink my halos and sidelight wires.

test one with standard bulbs (see if they are any good) then fit my nightbreakers, fit the new units, align and test

Hurry up and get them fitted. I want to see them on, to confirm I want abarth's.

This is to obvious, but you didn't move your car after you marked out the lights did you

I was thinking this lol as it seems like long time between marking the beams and fitting the angel eyes:p

:yeahthat: I am going to say it will have moved. Especially if his dad wants proof that they're not illegal.

Carl - Tell him your only changing the light surround. I can only see it ever being the actually bulbs that could be illegal.

and have managed to find multiple ebay listings and websites refering to them as e marked but no further information.

any ideas as to where i can find this information?

The answer is in the question. Have you looked on the light assembly itself? you are looking for.......would you believe an E-mark...thats a letter E in a circle moulded into the plastic in a visible location. Look at the standard headlamps for an example. It means the component design has passed the various type approval and Electromagnetic compatability tests required by European law.

No E-mark means the part has not been tested and its compatability with other parts is unknown. It is an offence under construction and use regulations to use a non E-marked component on a vehicle where the regulations apply to that part. Upshot of using non e-marked components is you may invalidate your insurance, you WONT pass an MOT and if VOSA or a clued up traffic cop catches you your arse is toast.

If you have bought them cheap from some lying ebay trader chances are you have been ripped off.

i dont get it, you rush into buying stuff for your car without thinking it through, and then take the p!ss fitting it

and how come you need 2 sets of bulbs? does it use a different bulb for high and dipped?

LED's will need resistors fitting iirc because they throw up a warning light on the dash.

yep separate main and dipped, two sidelights plus halos and the standard indicator etc

they came with two led 501 bulbs so will see if they work or not.
