Council sign - Authorized vehicles only

This is on the access to beach front. Any idea if theres anything wrong with just ignore the council sign? Plenty of people do it. Mostly fishermen carting all there kit closer to the sea.

Also why is there a box junction? It isnt a high traffic area so my exit *SHOULD* always be clear

haha, i am not going to drive out to sea, I have seen plenty of people get stuck doing that. One hilarious time when i'm standing by the sea looking into and seeing headlights shining back at me, was a bit of a wtf moment They cant the car stuck and just abandoned it overnight.

I want to drive on the road running around the beach.

its hardly on the road the sign. anyone would assume its a no parking sign. too much detail to read when driving.
normally don't they say private road?

Probabely to ensure access for emergency vehicles ...

It's not on the highway and it's not in the Highway Code so on that basis it doesn't exist, unless there is something in the local bye-laws that could be enforced by the council.

I don't know the area but could it be that it leads to a beach that boats can be trailered onto and launched from?
