The basic UK model, the 1.1 Active, has central locking activated by using the key in the driver's door lock. Sadly, the boot will only open if the key is inserted into the boot lock and turned and by no other means. This is irritating.
However, the 1.1 Active does provide reliable and fun motoring at a bargain basement cost, assuming you seek one out at the considerable discounts available. Its other irritants are, in no special order, no 12V power point, radio cassette rather than CD player and skinny tyres. Black plastic bumpers and other body parts don't look too good either but my daughter got round this by choosing a black car so it looks fine.

That's what they are all about cheap fun motoring at a bargain price, granted I upped the spec a bit and had to pay dear BUT it's all about choice, want the frills buy an eleganza or 100HP want a diesel or a few bobs on get a dynamic, want cheap & chearfull get the active. Simple really.....

I just hate using the remote as you still end up hitting the boot release as you try and lift the boot. Just can't get a grip anywhere else.

I use the remote if I've got my hands full or don't want to unlock the rest of the car, you can lift it with a finger using the plastic trim where the handle lies (without using the handle)

One of the reasons we went for the Dynamic instead of the Active. In fact, there was only £300 difference between the 2 models at the dealer and for the small additional outlay we'll get:-

(1) The larger 1.2 engine - more responsive / flexible and better overall mpg
(2) MP3 CD Player
(3) 12v Accessory Socket
(4) Body Coloured Bumpers
(5) Height Adjustable Steering
(6) ...and of course the Remote Central Locking

* Refers to latest specs *

A no brainer really!
(Agreed, the Active is insurance group 1, Dynamic group 2).

But NEITHER model has a locking fuel cap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Definitely the first upgrade when she arrives! (y)

O. I'm probably wrong on that one then, lol.

I'll let you off :D :D

It's now got the boot light, but having seen the power of it, I can see an LED Pack heading towards the boot !!!
