Not going to be straight forward unfortunatelyThank you koalas trying to fit one to mine with no remote locking.
All the wiring is in place and a hole already cut in the carpet, if you want to add a boot light to a car with central locking it's plug and play as in post 2My 100HP had a boot light. 1200 Dynamic and MultiJet do not. They all have central locking.
Fitted as standard to most puntos, that what I used from the breaker'sI'll have a look though with a better quality light. A ballasted LED should be good and not upset the can bus.
Which indicates the car is cheap. I mean - a drop-in-mountable LED lamp will set you back 3 Euros - including p&p from China. All the wiring is in place and a hole already cut in the carpet, if you want to add a boot light to a car with central locking it's plug and play as in post 2
Only higher spec cars have it fitted as standard though
As said, drop-in-mountable LED assemblies are available. These do get hot as well. Oddly, as LEDs are known for being very efficient, so I suspect the assembly contains a load resistor, making it look like a filament bulb to whatever piece of electronic gear that's monitoring its health.L,E.D would be a good choice, but will need to be the proper resistance otherwise it might not shut off straight away
