General Boot light

General Boot light

Yes

If the car has remote locking

The wiring is already in place

And it's plug and play

Its the same lamp unit as fitted as standard to most puntos

If the car only has central locking, the boot wiring hatch handle are different and it's not straight forward

Thank you koalas trying to fit one to mine with no remote locking.
Not going to be straight forward unfortunately

Wiring in a separate fused power wire with a switch on the centre consol would probably be the simplest solution

The original uses the body computer to switch the light on and off, and it's missing some components it used to detect the hatch has opened or closed, on cars without remote, and it not straight forward to retro fit them

My 100HP had a boot light. 1200 Dynamic and MultiJet do not. They all have central locking.
All the wiring is in place and a hole already cut in the carpet, if you want to add a boot light to a car with central locking it's plug and play as in post 2

Only higher spec cars have it fitted as standard though

I'll have a look though with a better quality light. A ballasted LED should be good and not upset the can bus.
Fitted as standard to most puntos, that what I used from the breaker's

Filament bulbs do get quite hot for little light output

L,E.D would be a good choice, but will need to be the proper resistance otherwise it might not shut off straight away
