Can anyone advise - changed the oil pressure switch and had service ond oil filter. Red light next to temp gauge appeared on dash - car not used and fast forward a few months now this Red oil filler light is on - oil level good, changed the oil pressure switch again - no change. Car ticks over fine, no overheating etc .....Car is a 2009 Eco 1.1

Get a mechanical oil pressure gauge and screw it in instead of the oil switch, if no reading then it
could be the pump it's drive or oil pickup, maybe a stuck pressure relief valve, if you get a reading
the wiring from the pressure switch is suspect

So the "High temperature" light is not a problem, it doesn't stay constantly on, does it? It should light up for check as soon as you start the engine and go off immediately.

Oil light on is worrying. You definitely shouldn't drive the car with it on. First find out what triggers it and fix it.
As @RalphM said, the best way to go at it is to have a pressure gauge put instead of the pressure switch and read the actual pressure. Normal oil pressure is 0.9 bar on idle (might be higher on cold oil) and 3.5 bar - 1.2 engine/4.2 bar - 1.4 engine with engine running 4000 RPM.
The pump might be faulty or it could be an electrical malfunction on the pressure switch line. Gotta find out which is it.
You can test the switch by having it out and connected to electrical wire. Turn the key on (without starting the engine) and the oil light should pop on. Apply pressure with a compressor on top of the switch. If it is working the light should go off. If light stays on, switch is bad.
What switch brand ddid you buy?

Bought the new pressure switch from GSF... waiting for a break in the weather to test the switch and wire as suggested..haven't got a tool to test the oil pressure.... MOT due in oct so could ask garage to do that then...was thinking it could be head gasked as
noticed a tiny bit of white sludge in the oil filler cap but I put that down to the fact the car has stood for a long time...blows hot air through the heater...

Fist job measure the 5V at the end of the wire

This will tell us the wire is solid and the pin at the ECU connector is fine

If you want to drive the car it's important you test you really have oil pressure

They are a normally closed switch

Multimeter on resistance

Engine off

Block to the pin on the end of the switch should be
Less than two ohms

Engine idling

Block to the pin on the end of the switch should be
Open circuits

If it goes to open circuit it's got pressure the switch is fine and the problem lies elsewhere

Because it's grounded via the block

And to cover all bases

It worth checking the block earth, strap under the battery tray also

There is a simple test, if you have someone to crank the engine for you

I am kind of ignoring it at the moment, as normally the problem would be the oil light wouldn't come on at all if it was faulty, the other way round to what you have

I've also been having similar issues - twice this year the oil pressure light came on and stayed on after restarts. First time I took it to a garage, they cleaned out the pickup tube gauze and replaced the o-ring. Problem seemingly went away, but then returned a few months later. The pressure switch tested ok, separate pressure gauge showed pressure was ok, then mysteriously the light just went away on its own.

If the problem returns again I'll try and do some more diagnosis of the wiring, but for now it's been fine for months. 🤷‍♂️
