I forgot the PIN code on my card and I thought I knew vaguely what it was...

So over the past week I have been guessing it  Today was the final straw, 5th attempt, and the card got sucked in :( I stupidly didn't think that it worked that way, I thought you had 3 chances per day

Its a Visa Electron and my bank is the woolwich.

How do I go about getting the card back? The woolwich is usually shut by time a get back to work (mon-fri)

I still have the little print out that the machine spat out to taunt me.

I work on Lost&SStolen at a bank, call them, they stop it, they send you a new one and PIN (If requested)

who's to say the card wasn't spat back out again??

rep please:p

So the only way to get a new one is if I stop the card? If so, I'll get on that tomorrow.

I think the machine took some pictures of me, as it made me think I had cracked the PIN before stealing the card. :D

Now how do I justify this rep? :chin: I was going to buy petrol with the money I wash trying to get with the machine. So I guess its 'kinda' car related....

I think they post the cards back out to you without question.

I'm pretty sure that's what happened when a similar thing happened to me.

Phone em up and request a new pin now in the post to save time.

Or do what I do, a really clever thing I save the pin in my mobile phone...under the contact PIN....safe as houses ;)

LMFAO! :D ....hoping that they don't nick your phone with your card ;)

I'll probably do something like that though.

I thought I'd remember this one as I did my last. Although my last card had the PIN code 1471 , so a little easier to remember :D

depends if it was a woolwich atm. generally if the card is taken in by the issuing bank it is posted out. any other bank destroy the card. my advise cancel and replace it. and ask for a re-advice of your pin! (y)

(does that mean i get rep lol :p )

It was a natwest machine I think.

Do you think the phones be open at 8AM? (Only real chance of phoning them before 5.30 PM)

The bank who own the ATM will destroy it, or the ATM has a destroy mechanism in it.

It has to be presumed the card has been stolen.

Working for RBS, the only way out of this is to phone your bank and cancel the card as lost (by telling them taken by an atm) and then they send you a new card with a new PAN and PIN number.
