What's made you smile today?

What's made you smile today?

I do lots of miles whilst driving for work. Only about 150 today, but that's long enough to send you down some very bizarre roads when it comes to choice of music.

So I ended up listening to, and realising I know most of the words to this:

Which set me off down the road of old TV theme tunes.

Sadly, I then ended up at this:

And, departing from the TV themes, I ended up here:

What's made me smile ? Donald Trump. You really couldn't make it up.

"We will announce a substantial reciprocal action on Macron's foolishness shortly. I've always said American wine is better than French wine!"

Asked about the issue in the Oval Office later, Mr Trump, who is teetotal, said: "I've always liked American wines better than French wines. Even though I don't drink wine. I just like the way they look."

One of the true visionaries of our time...Children will learn how he was the bigliest and most winning..and how he inspired a racist, blonde haired, labrador half-breed in the UK.

Always up for a bargain, among other sites I peruse Gumtree now & then, it's a habit more than anything else. Can't believe the prices put up by some for certain things far too high to say the least. Came across something in the section that would be handy for me (not going to divulge too much, just in case) so looked up the item, wow:eek: he was wanting about five times the price of a new one. This was a few years old but as stated in very good condition. He didn't have the thing cleaned for the photo shoot.....:D

You got to laugh.

Not to put a spanner in the works so to speak,:) vehicles are a different pan of fish...:D The likes of your local Gumtree for instance, people are more often than not getting rid of stuff in some cases where I'd just bin. Not only that but asking unrealistic prices. One springs to mind a wee while ago, a couple of kitchen stools I recognised the same we had from the 70's, just fit for firewood & they were asking eighty quid for the pair, aye & not willing to split....:D I'd split the whole lot for kindlers.

Tbf with gumtree there is a decent chance the stuff came off freecycle.

How is that worse?

You'll get a internet cookie if you can get through the explanation without conflating socialism and communism or mentioning terrorism.

I suppose we could criticise him for antisemitism..but given Borises track record a saying regards glass houses comes to mind.

We could criticise Diane Abbot..but well Dominic Raab redefined ineptitude after the radio incident.

I'm not a huge believer in Magic Grandpa but I prefer my politicians to actually pretend to want to make the world better.

If you're from my part of the world, then this is sufficient for 'How it can be worse'.. unfortunately, terrorism here is a big deal :bang:

Good news is the current no deal situation risks the good Friday agreement Corbyn helped broker (which is why this photo exists given he met key figures during the struggles to try and end it).

Next.

Nothing like taking a photo out of context to suit your own narrative (y)

On the flip side at least the current government isn’t reliant on the DUP which also has terrorist roots, as well as extreme view, Christ imagine what a mess things would be if that were the case ;)

I'm unsure if either of you can understand the perspective of people here beyond what you see on the news, so I wouldn't expect you to enter into a discussion about it.

Still, could be worse than Boris / Trump... could be Corbyn. Yuck. (y)

Edit: you can both message me privately to discuss any of your strong viewpoints and get rapid responses rather than hijacking these threads beyond the odd comment ;-) Welcome on my end, anyway!
