Yellow - FS Project Seicento 2

just on a checking thought you guys got a compressions tester ??? if not i think mark is coming up at some point so was thinking we could check the compression ive got one here maybe a long shot but at least its another of the list we could also remove the cat even though it was new it was maybe faulty on purchase ??

Whilst the problems with Yellow are disheartening that's not what has currently brought it all to a stop. I can confirm all work is on hold until things are sorted out.

just completed engine change on my ratty this weekend. Started first turn of the key all spot on so proves my point if everything as should be then there should be no problems at all? all needs set the basic settings for 1.2 punto SPI then should be fine for MOT also emissions wise. Sento has higher emissions than punto so should never be an issue? Check carb setup and engine for compression if all ok and exhaust sealed and no leaks should be fine?

tbh guys. id quite happily make the journey up to sort it out with everyone. i may not be able to help but im sure i could help shed a bit of light on it....

james we may need to sort a trip up out

As previously said this is currently on hold but if it gets going again you are both very welcome and the offer to stay at mine is always there.

All offers of help are appreciated even if we don't always respond to them. I would like to hope we will fix Yellow but unfortunately some things are out of my hands for now

Im still keen to help when required too... we are sooo close its unbelievable. .

Clock 34 fully aware they dont have a traditional carb but still needs settings checked, butterfly play, correct injection jet, idle settings, fuel pressure and the like? As stated above it is not far away, personally i think a good weekends fettling by someone in the know and should see it running no bother? :yes2:

post on facebook the next fixit meet and will see if me and my brother can make it for a fettle now mine is done and going like a train. ;)

They don't have a non traditional carb either... it's fuel injection, computer controlled. The vast majority of the listed has been checked, i have offered to bring up the cinqs old 8v injection system and management to test everything on that side as mine is known good to the point it even sailed through emissions with the start of a leaking piston ring(s).

As said, i'm wanting to get it compression tested (merely as a precaution to rule out any internals, before taking stuff apart blindly, though it should be fine), go over all vacuum hoses with a fine tooth-comb and run my management setup on it

It's been a while - so time for an update.

None of us have been near yellow in far too long, for various reasons. Partly I think we were all to damned exhausted having spent lots of time, money and energy trying to get him tested earlier this year. With the storage situation changing, it's been agreed that Yellow will be moving out to Alford. IE living on our driveway for a bit.

This will be good for numerous reasons. There is heating, electric, light and proper dry storage available. Or there will be, if I clear the garage a little.

It's also nearer to the A96 and Forres, so hopefully a few of our northern visitors will fancy swinging in past again.

I also think the run out to Alford for a new MOT will do the world of good.

So, with Stuarty returning from Nigeria at the end of the month, I'm going to be booking yellow in for a test, we'll get some insurance sorted out, and run him out the road to the test center. It's probably wishful thinking, but that might just help with some of the running issues as there's plenty mileage to cover between FS HQ and Alford. It's not all just dual carriageway either!

I've texted some of the usual faces, but I've suggested to Harper that we try and get to yellow as soon as possible to begin freeing off brakes (again) and getting him ready for this move.

Any offers of help will, as always, be greatfully accepted.

Cheers for now,
Martyn

Although I know jump leads have been mooted as a requirement I would suggest putting in the replacement battery instead if @Ransoman is still happy to do this. Could help with the ecu constantly clearing itself too.

Plus let's not forget this little tip from m5haw

Yep a was at a fiat idea yesterday 1.4 petrol and it was hunting at idle after code reading it says throttle valve not learned basic values due to low ecu voltage car had been stood for 2 weeks with flat battery charged battery up depress throttle pedal with ignition on for 30 sec released pedal for 30 secs with ignition on then switch ignition of for 1 min started car up and ran sweet as a nut my point is the ecu needs time to learn

Itll have to learn fast if im taking it to the test center ;)

Saturday morning is currently out for but the rest of the weekend and most evenings bar Wednesdays is so far clear. Would prefer to know sooner rather than later if poss
