FIAT decided we were capable of spotting we couldnt see at night.. but its amazing those that don't
I don't think people don't notice...50% of the time they seem to think foglights or drls = spare headlamps.

Very few people do their own bulbs and wipers now..

Few years ago one of my wife's headlamp bulbs on her micra blew. They were not a hard thing to change with the lamps being on top of the wings above the engine. Two lads from her work offered assistance...neither knew how to do it. Changed it when she got home, 2 minute job on that car.

I can understand more on cars that require what can only be described as epic ****ery to change a bulb. Eg bumper off or disassembling air intakes. But in most cases its literally a case of don't know don't care.

Just listened to the new 2021 Abba album "Voyage" TBH it's stunning and at least one track completes the "Winner Takes it All" series.
As someone is producing real music against the cut and paste autotune carp that pollutes today's output. Even Adele got caught in the act.

Buster is starting to settle in.

We couldn't get him into that bed until late last night. Today, he has adopted it as his 'office'. We got the first bark out of him when the missus and I returned from an errand run early this afternoon. He was glad to see us. Buster and I have covered a few miles on his pee walks already. He's allowed the run of the house, but limits himself to the carpeted areas downstairs. For some reason, the hardwood floor in the kitchen makes him nervous. We'll need to work past that. Come springtime, we'll work on making him a canine co-pilot in the sidecar.

Finishing the repair on our 1.2 Lounge after a rake fell onto the front wing. All the dents were mended with judicious use of a rubber hammer. Chips now brush painted and polished down followed by a coat of laquer and a lot of polishing to remove it all againexcept where the repainted chips were. Its now pretty much invisible and at a cost of £0 as all the bits were already on my shelf. Thats quite a load of work! Note to self. Be more B careful!

While I was there checked the n/s brakes, de-rusted the rear of the disc and cleaned and lube'd all the required bits, and removed the lip off the disc. Disc is still at 10.79mm and pads worn by about 40% so not bad after 35000 miles. Just need to do the o/s tomorrow,

Does it make me smile that I have 3 Pandas of differing types and ages, and they all have the same wheel nut key. No, but its often easier to get a key from the nearest car rather than fiddle trying to open the car parked at the back of the garage. May also help if we ever loose a key.

It's amazing how many drivers trundle along pitch dark, narrow roads nervously braking every few seconds yet never once touch the main beam switch. Then when they do eventually find it, they dip for an oncoming car and never use it again. WTF is that about?

Actual answer I gave for a fork truck exam on this side of the pond.

Question:What do you need to do if the load is too heavy for your fork truck?

Correct Answer:Either use a larger fork truck or lighten the load.

My answer, because I’ve been running equipment since I was five and I hated the instructor:Get two or three guys to stand on the back of the fork truck. Always works.

I'm surprised they find it at all. So many that I've taught, and a few of the experienced drivers I see with the corporate training, have no idea it exists. They think that 'main beam' and 'headlights', are the same thing. No idea the headlights have two settings.
But, if they have found it, I guess they cannot find the brain power to keep changing it as oncoming traffic arrives and passes.
If only they'd use main beam, we could see to overtake.

Yup, I often run into that one PB. When visiting my brother down in Galashiels, it's a journey on the A7 main "A" road tourist route up from Carlisle but with lots of twisty bits and some quite good straights where they've realigned the road over the years. In the spring the tourists start coming in greater numbers and through the summer it can get very busy. They're often just tootling along at 40mph - and why not, they're on holiday on a road they don't know. On the outward journey I'm typically on the move around mid morning, it's daylight and good time can be made without annoying anyone. The return journey over the winter months is in the dark and often blighted by these people plodding along, on dipped beam, often at 30mph, or even less in the twisty bits, and you can't see the road ahead of them to judge when to pull out and take advantage of the short straights which unfold. Used to annoy the hell out of me but now, in my dotage, I hang back until we're approaching a known straight where I know I'll easily see the lights of anything approaching. Then I build speed as we exit the corner and sweep past them before they know what's "hit" them.

Lovely pics Steven, the wee lad looks like he's having a lovely time. Our wee grandson was also very poorly with the cold earlier in the week but is fully recovered now. He spent most of Tuesday cuddled into granddad on the couch while we watched endless episodes of Fireman Sam and Paw Patrol. Very special moments when a child cuddles up with you like that! Mrs J went down with a stinking cold this morning and is dosing herself with lemsips as I write this. Waiting for it to "hit" me now.

Kicking myself for not taking my camera with me on my walk this morning - really must get a smart phone with camera. Anyway it was a brilliant sunny day so I decided to do one of my regular walks down by the water of Leith. There was a lot of water going over the weir which would have made a good photo and coming back through Victoria park the crocus were all out and making a wonderful carpet of colour. Must have been a lot of rain in the night, lots of big puddles and muddy patches on the paths, very glad for my new waterproof trainers!

As is the way...I have more as you can always delete them but can't take them again. Was a lovely day, meant to be the same tomorrow after rain overnight so probably do it all again..maybe off to Beamish for some classic buses and trams, maybe up the wood we'll see.

I do take fewer these days...just because he's a lot more demanding so you tend be addressing him rather than pushing a buggy with your thoughts.

It's been horrific for colds since Christmas, alternate weekends it's been either a storm or he's been up in the night coughing and spluttering away. Always at the weekend when his mams at work..Good job I enjoy a bit of children's TV at 1am. There's hard times when they are ill but as you say it's also nice when they cuddle in and settle.

His latest trick...diving in to the front of the car while you go round to get him out..he noticed the pedals for the 1st time today and asked what they do, normally he's far too busy pressing the hazards..yes the mats are rat look.
