What's made you smile today?

We only have a small kitchen, so only room for a small fridge/freezer. A couple of yers ago our old unit gave up, and we replaced it with one the same size ... outside. But due to the need to make everything consume less energy, there is more insulation, making the internal size significantly smaller. We have go tused to the smaller fridge, a bit tight at times, but the freezer is like two Panda gloveboxes. Won't hold a fortnight's food, let alone 3 months.

Had an idea we could put a freestanding freezer in the garage. They seem to be more expensive than a full height fridge/freezer, perhaps due to recent demand, but then I thought, there's nothing in the shops to fill one with.

Sainsbury's and others are giving priority times to 'vulnerable' people. Hopefully can get myself on that list.

HOW THE WORLD IS REACTING TO THE VIRUS THREAT - relax and laugh a little / or a lot

The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent virus threat and have therefore raised their threat level from “Miffed” to “Peeved.” Soon, though, level may be raised yet again to “Irritated” or even “A Bit Cross.”

The English have not been “A Bit Cross” since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies nearly ran out. The virus has been re-categorized from “Tiresome” to “A Bloody Nuisance.” The last time the British issued a “Bloody Nuisance” warning level was in 1588, when threatened by the Spanish Armada.

The Scots have raised their threat level from “Pissed Off” to “Let's Get the Bastard.” They don't have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line of the British army for the last 300 years.

The French government announced yesterday that it has raised its alert level from “Run” to “Hide.” The only two higher levels in France are “Collaborate” and “Surrender.” The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France's white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the country's military capability.

Italy has increased the alert level from “Shout Loudly and Excitedly” to “Elaborate Military Posturing.” Two more levels remain: “Ineffective Combat Operations” and “Change Sides.”

The Germans have increased their alert state from “Disdainful Arrogance” to “Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs.” They also have two higher levels: “Invade a Neighbour” and “Lose.”

Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual; the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels.

The Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy.

Australia, meanwhile, has raised its alert level from “No worries” to “She'll be alright, Mate.” Two more escalation levels remain: “Crikey! I think we'll need to cancel the barbie this weekend!” and “The barbie is cancelled.” So far, no situation has ever warranted use of the final escalation level.

This made me smile. I challenge anybody on here to exceed this level of shine ;)

With all the isolation, I don't want no excuses about 'not having the time' ;)

I hope at some point everyone's freezers are so full they can't continue to panic buy.

The issue is compounded by the fact even if you want to shop normally..you can't. Normally I'd just wait till we are down to very little then shop but you can't take the chance the shop will be gutted when you get there.

So even if you're just buying normal amounts of things you end up buying a little more as you don't know when you'll see X in a shop again. My wife works for the Ambulance service I'm working full time still so we got no bloody choice as the only times we get to go are after work at which time most things have gone.

Handily with my son having allergies so far we've found that no one likes to panic buy free from and dairy free alternatives. So plenty of gluten free, bread crumpets and soya milk!

My plan was to go to Tesco once a week at midnight on a Friday or so... but now they've reduced their opening hours for good reason ... sad times to see Tesco, McDonald's and all the other things that are 'always there' no longer being there. But, that's not to say it ain't for good reason - it is.

May have a go later...been told to take paid leave as I work in long term planning.

Got my stuff tidied up yesterday put things in place so that it'll look after itself other things that fall to guys who can work from home and I'm out of there until the sort me a home working solution.

As a result I probably get both the Mazda and the Citroen washed this week. Citroen should be fun, it's not been washed since about last August.

Never gonna happen with the punto, The punto not only has half the Norfolk countryside stuck to it, but the lacquer is peeling and the paint is scratched and dented..... Better to leave it covered in mud.

Hey, it’s not mud, it’s an organic environmentally friendly protective layer preserving it [emoji6]

And also, wanted to say this, but you’ve got enough of a task now in the health service with everything going on. Just wanted to say good luck in all of that work and thanks to you and the others that are out there doing lifesaving work. [emoji106]

I hope that the government can reward people who are on the front line for this once it becomes under control again. Definitely deserved

Couldn't be arsed to do the Citroen..

However..not bad for a 9 year old family bus on the wrong side of 80k, if a bit of a 3 yard car these days when it used to be immaculate.

I've been meaning to get a clay bar and do a proper decontamination for about 4 years..

White.. hides dents well..
light scratches too :)

But.. having owned a white uno..and mk1 fiesta

RUST just screams 'look at me..' :(

It does, given the list of unrepaired damage runs to hail damage on all upper panels and she was reversed into by a tow bar armed transit van pre-Christmas it still looks reasonable!

I also had a white uno back in the day as well, though mine had been garaged for 12 years so looked amazing...didn't stop the owner running it with a leaking slave cylinder, destroying the clutch and finally the gearbox at 40k miles though (boo!).

I keep thinking I should do something with the rear arches...then wondering why that's the damage I bothered to fix.

God yes, tbf we've got a 9 pack (our usual amount) in but there's the feeling that if it gets low you can't just nip out for another!
Around the time that the panic bulk buying began, I was starting to get a little low on continuous stationery, and I managed to get an 18 pack (which is what I've always bought, I hasten to add!) from my local Savers. My god, I felt self conscious walking back home with it, lol!

Haha! To carry on the panic buying theme, fuel warning light was lit on the Panda.

Gosh tho fuel prices have dropped jolly low, ain't they?

So I figured we'd take advantage and fill 'er right up.

£30 and that's your lot in a 169 Panda at the moment.

Not sure that really counts as 'stockpiling' petrol.

We tried our best though:)

Of course people are not needing fuel when they are banged up at home so I suppose this price drop was to be expected - although it hadn't occurred to me beforehand. Of course I filled up both cars just before all this nonsense kicked off didn't I!

Car Mechanics Mag has a very interesting feature this month on E10 petrol and how it doesn't store well (and all the other potential problems it might cause us) Had it been in general use at this time I wonder if fuel lying unused in the petrol station tanks could significantly degrade?

Fill up with super, it'll continue to be E5.

As it is I've got 3 quarters of a tank of super in as it wasn't going down much pre lock down as my commute was dead.

In these times of not being allowed out to for drive about fired up a bit of Forza Horizon..I do have a garage full of low mileage Lambos.

But most of my preferred cars are a bit more humble.
Other than the Countryman which I only have because it was a pain in the arse to get and you can't buy them in game. The Ugly is faithfully transferred to the screen in 4k..
