Other than the Countryman which I only have because it was a pain in the arse to get and you can't buy them in game. The Ugly is faithfully transferred to the screen in 4k..

My Wife wants the real life thing, The only thing is her ability to get insurance as she keeps hitting stuff.

That said, 300 hp would be fun :D

Of course people are not needing fuel when they are banged up at home so I suppose this price drop was to be expected - ?
Russia helped, Saudi Arabia wanted them to stop pumping like they did when demand from china stopped, but Russia kept pumping giving us loads of stock and lower prices (y)

Does look better in a more flattering colour..still think it looks an old Jeep Waggoneer...should be a woody.

300bhp sounds like a nice idea but at 200 kg more than a Golf R and with the aero of a bunker it's probably not going to feel as fast as you'd imagine. Warm hatch fast at 0-60 in 7.

That and given the COG it'll either have significant roll or be a bit hard for day to day use in the UK

Probably makes more sense in a less turbo nutter spec, given it would probably be a more pleasant day to day thing.

Passing the time in & out of my shed, wife has several jobs need doing requiring my cordless drill. Dead lion battery, bugger, put on charge, not charging, again bugger. Tinternet shows me how to restart a sleeping battery from another spare charged one..:D Nice one. Hook up the - & + from battery to battery, leave for two minutes or so, hey presto a battery than can take a charge again....:D

It’s still got more power and will do 0-60 faster than a Ferrari 348, which admittedly is an old car now but still a V8 ferrari.

That’s what my wife wants, I’m with you on the Golf R front, especially with how cheap some of them are now. Would happily do the 500bhp Revo conversion for Lamborghini worrying acceleration

There appears to be 2 versions, 220 odd bhp was the original with a 7 second 0-60 and the later 300 odd bhp one..with a 5 second odd 0-60.

Golf R estate fills the same brief though, not that it matters I'm sure. Given we roll the green goblin entirely because my wife liked it rather than any actual logical reason such as it actually being objectively good!

Seen a few of those videos and always wondered if it would really work, especially in the long term. ie not just a one shot wonder. So, if you can be bothered, please let us know how it's behaving say a couple of weeks/months from now?

Just had my first bath since beginning of January:D

Hip operation has only allowed me showers up to now, but this hot bath was lovely. Dodgy knee on the same leg is keeping me off work. Under the circumstances I'm OK with that.

Haha! To carry on the panic buying theme, fuel warning light was lit on the Panda.

Gosh tho fuel prices have dropped jolly low, ain't they?

So I figured we'd take advantage and fill 'er right up.

£30 and that's your lot in a 169 Panda at the moment.

Not sure that really counts as 'stockpiling' petrol.

We tried our best though:)

Fuel here was at 102p yesterday. Love it!

Looks like you were correct Jock, my battery is not holding charge for very long. I was under the assumption that lion batteries lasted & worked better than this. Ah well. Least of my worries at the moment.

Russia and Saudi are pumping like no tomorrow. Probably hoping to put US shale out of business. Obviously, Trump will let that happen. But in the meantime, the FT says US crude has gone below $20 a barrel 75% down from a few months ago.

Spot prices today for Brent crude is currently $25 and Mars US (Mississippi Gulf ) is $15. They wont be pumping for long at that price.

Not sure why I thought this but I was assuming you were dealing with Ni-Cads. I too thought that Li-Ion had the potential to last a very long time especially as they don't have the Memory effect problems of Ni-Cad. As you say, Ah well, you live and learn. How old is the battery you're trying to resuscitate?

The Li-Ion battery in my camera has lasted many years and still seems to retain charge and have the same duration as when new.

People often keep their power tool batteries topped up. Not a good idea because 100% charge causes lithium crystal dendrites which can short out a cell internally. A high volts back blast might break the crystals and revive the battery. But be careful too much will kill the cells dead.

Another option is to open the pack and replace the dead cell. Test each one against a load with voltmeter to see their charge capacity. Plenty of instruction vids on YouTube.

Aye I know about these things, drill is a parkside jobbie so not really bothered about it. Kind of wanted an easy fix there & then. Something to keep me interested for the day under the circumstances, the wife on the other hand spent her day in our rear garden shifting things & making new arrangements for our log store........:D

No idea where I got this from, but my understanding is that a Li-ion battery that goes completely flat will probably be dead forever. This is why whenever you buy anyting new with such a battery, despite being advised to charge it before use, it always seems to work. They can't afford to send stuff out with dead batteries.

Recently bought a new battery for a phone that was a few years old. Sadly new battery was completely flat, so would not charge. Got a refund, replaced whole phone instead.
