What qualifications are you working towards?

Chartered Engineer (CEng) Status

Ive done 4 years toil in a dungeon to get this far, need another 2 and a bit years or so to get that, but it also signals a point I should be getting paid considerably better than I am being already.

how did you get 2 and 3? did you stop school at 16?

finished school at normal time, wasnt 16 till the august after i finished, started working in a nvq level 2 with my job at the current employers in the september, progressed through the workplace and with my nvq's.

im not one for going to uni and running up a huge debt, and the pay whilst working and getting a qualification is good

I'm looking at tonnes of debt, from what will be a total of 6 years of uni.

Could I give a ****? Of course not.

You can't just waltz into any career path without a qualification. If hadn't done what I'm doing now, I'd be working Tescos or some ****ty office job pen pushing for some obscure bull**** company, like a lot of my friends who chose to not bother with further education, and are now earing a whopping six pounds something a hour.

As long as I get to do what I love for my career, I really don't care how much debt I'm in.

i do miss the atmosphere of going into a college/uni environment though

even though we have a laugh where i work, and have wid parties etc, its not the same as uni

Well im fully qualified and working for about 9 months and i have no debt:woot:
Next thing on the agenda is to do a Photography course because i want to learn a bit more.
Next and i dont even know if this exists but i want to do some kind of Advanced Audio tuning for ICE but like i said who knows if that exists.

Right im off home finnished work now and the boss is looking at me as if to say hurry up. Sooo see ya(y)

Not strictly true. Theres a guy on here went to uni got a Degree in IT now works in Tesco for very little money. I didn't go to Uni after working for 18months in the IT industry I've got a job and im on very good money. Now i've got the job I can now study in my own time for my Degree (which will now be a lot easier) without being a scummy student lol :nerner: :D.

Not every career path requires a qualification, especially IT, which is anyone could be taught. I'm fairly certain you could train a monkey in a subject like that.

Where talent is actually involved, its a bit more difficult  :p

Us scummy students are doing ok this end :) I have a part time job as well, all be it not paying an aweful lot....... The best thing about my degree is that I have work experience, and a spring board into industry after my placement year.
