Having got the new turbo assembly fitted i was slightly nervous of wether the car would live up to my expectations.
When i drove it home from purchase i think it haf about 25hp..it was so slow to be dangerous
Now fixed...it was a nippy little thing.
Thought I'd try super unleaded... well that's money well spent.
It's now has a great flexible powerband.. definitely runs smoother and with more oomph.
Does anyone else run their TA on super juice?

Yes all the time. Mpg and power are much better than on e10

Definitely - improved mpg pays for the price premium and so much smoother.

Hi, 🙂

Is this an 85bhp Euro6?

I have Euro 5 and 6 variants

Haven't noticed a difference..

The Euro 5 is Much stronger all round than the Euro6's

Yes 2015 Euro 6 i believe...not sure how i tell..

Should be on the ECU label on the inner wing

Are these tuning boxes seen as a good idea?
I've had ECU remaps to great success on other cars but no experience of a switchable tuning box
Guess I'm worried it would explode the tiny engine...but more ooomph is a great thing

I would be keen to find out more - specifically what parameters it can "remap". Observing the TA has the additional variable of the valve lift as well as timing which differentiates it from other vehicles. Or does a "remap" just tweak the injected fuel volumes etc (I would assume it is not such a blunt instrument)? I just don't have the knowledge or experience.

Isn't there a 105BHP version of the TA from the factory? Might be in a 500. I would imagine all internals are the same.
I wonder how that is achieved?
Bigger turbo or just a map?

Spike

So in essence its an adjustable map to take it upto the 105hp is was designed to handle
How about the 6 speed gearbox and 4 wheel drive transmission?
Are problems in increasing power likely to cause any drive line issues?

So.. boosting output to 105hp on q brand new turbo should be ok...?
Ive asked at a tuner in Norwich. Their tech man said he would rather manually alter the map amd the cost in 2018 was around £350.
I am still interested in a bit more power but my understanding is the 105hp has a differeent turbo. May be EPER could help find out. A decent dealer parts person would be able to tell and searching google might confirm. 90HP is definitely just mapping. The tuner seemef to think 100 would be easy to attain. On a brand new car you need a reputable supplier who will warrant the engine as well as conversion. My waze 90 hahbloody hah... althougg only 85hp does feel much more muscular than the car it teplaced. Only ever put your car on a 4x4 equipped dynamometer. These are not as easy to find.
