Tuning turbo time!

All fair ;) But this is just an overkill for a car that will do 10k miles before you decide to put something new in (like a t-jet), without even first goint on a RR. Isn't it? Just badly teasing you :D :D

It cost me about 6 quid and came with loads of adapters that i needed for other things anyway  ive spent a lot more then £6 on things that are totally useless (n) lol

Why would craig want to change this engine? It'll have between 160-200bhp, you'd be crazy to say "more please" in a cinq lol

depending on how many pistons go pop lol

but to be fair im not at all interested in a t-jet. its just.... blah. i prefer to do my own stuff.
the only part you can really fit in a cento is the bottom end so by the time you have swapped all the bits to make it fit you wont have that much more then my engine should make

still waiting on bits...nothing left to do really other then crappy bits.

so today I got out the head and carrier ill be using jet washed the crap out of everything, used a bottle of oven cleaner to remove the gummy old oil and carbon.

then spray painting everything

Also received a nice little silencer with a one inch bore. (y)
so gave this a quick spray.

bolted it all together with old gaskets and bolts just to check if everything fits fine (lot of close fitting bits on the manifold that i worried will hit stuff once gaskets are compressed)

I was testfitting my turbo this week to see how far it woulf stick forward from the engine.
Now I see these picture I guess my 1.2 8v with turbo must fit in my seicento.
Seems your turbo is sticking more to the front then mine.
Still I need to get my engine prepared, it's just waiting until the funds are there haha.

Looks great, interestimng topic to read.(y)

I would check the measurements again if I were you. This is because I am still convinced, despite what Craig said on a number of occasions, that this construction of his will not fit the Cinq engine bay

Well, that and the bumber, which might be a limiting factor too. BTW, Seis seem to have so much more space... (Envious)

come on dude have faith lol. from the measurements and eyeballing my mates 16v cinq it should fit.

there is more space at the top of the bumper then at the bottom and most of the bulk of mine is up the top.

the turbo is the same as what Jason has on hes 8valve cinq and hes fits... the turbo(flange) is a couple of mm from the water pipe that runs along the block so unless he relocated this pipe then hes should be the same distance (infact mine should/could be closer as i built it as close as i could and not limited by the chopped up cinq cast manifold he used)

time will tell but im not (to) worried. ill "make" it fit :)

haha my grinder has had a tough few months building this manifold (had a bosch one that couldnt take it. bought a cheap argos one for £12 and paid £2 for 3years replacement cover and the thing has not skipped a beat lol)

did need to grind a bit of the block(where the engine number is) today to gain some clearance for the external wastegate.

got your parcel :) tiny little thing... thought it would of been bigger haha.
funny enough just before the post arrived i was looking for the datasheet for the cam sensor on my engine. (find the pinout)

and... the specs match the new hall sensors! it to is capable or reading 60-2 wheel (infact its designed to)

http://www.bosch-motorsport.de/en-US/literature/en-US/0232103037_DataSheet_enUS_T6821391115.pdf

got my expensive carbide burrs today so I can finish the intake manifold and clean all the ports up. yay...

also... I noticed today that the internal wastegate on the Turbo was worn. the shaft had a couple of mm play. so when it was held shut the play was twisting the shaft causing the flap to not seal.

so I ground the weld and removed it. I pressed a good bush out of an old dead Turbo but found the shaft to be very worn rather then the bush.

so had to stick it on the lathe to make the shaft round again and then make a new bush. had to use brass but it seals fine now.
not worried about it wearing now as it wont be used anyway.
