Tuning turbo time!

Tuning turbo time!

righto. got the take off plate. was to big (but has two seals... an inner for small filters like ours and a outer for big filters like the old engines) and it came with adapters to convert it to M20... but it was a male adapter lol.

anyway found out the thread the filter screws onto simply screws out so that fixed the male/female problem. (well sorta... the adapter was to long so machined it down a bit)

the filter is tight to the block so as this plate is made universal it hits the block!. quick spin on the lathe and it fits good.

bolted everything back onto the engine (M7 bolts arrived... yay) and a bit of wrap around the turbo collector :)

took a side on photo as now its easier to see how big everything is... you can see how tight and narrow ive made the manifold and turbo.

What problems did you had with the standard sensor for creating a new one? You both use the megasquirt? What improvements you have with this? I will put a MS too, so any info and tip is good for the future :)

wehey.
got my M18 tails...fitted perfect

now im looking for an T adapter to fit the remote filter head oil temp/pressure take off.

the filter head has this tapped after the filter so im thinking of using this for the turbo oil feed as it stops the pipe running at a awkward angle from the pump. might also run a slightly larger bore feed pipe (ive noticed that the oil feeds on the cento are smaller then the feeds ive seen on any other car (even standard))

got my heat exchanger. :) looks good.

having a chat lastnight at the motorsport club it seems heat exhangers are used as much as normal oil coolers because they are a lot more reliable and the huge benefit of much faster warm up time for the oil.

so pretty chuffed to hear that.

heres the "beast"

the t-jet has one... its part of a unit bolted onto the oil pump.

i plan to fit it it where ever it fits (before or after the filter wont matter) best.

the coolant feed will be from the heat hose on the back of the head which will go though the exchanger then to the heater matrix.

this is pretty much how its detailed by fiat on the t-jet.

hoping to fit it all (exchanger and remote oil filter) in the area where the standard ecu is on the cinq. i have a relay box and coil drivers there atm but plan to move it all inside the car when i fit the engine
