Tuning turbo time!

Tuning turbo time!

lol.... but... my cars wiring has changed so much since fitting ms so when the 16v goes in im totally rewiring it and upgrading it (add on board that contains 4 injector drivers and 4 coil drivers and a dedicated board for reading crank and cam positions hopefully this will make the wiring neater/more reliable/LOT more accurate)

sooo... I want to fit everything I could possibly want so the wiring does not end up like it is now.

you still after a 75cam? I have... A few. lol

Set up you describe is exactly like the one in the A Graham Bell book. I'd imagine it's not very CAT friendly!

The NOX ones I've seen just inject NO2 for a milisecond between gearchanges -- essentially they provide extra oxygen and fuel (which is all the turbo does) when the turbo can't (not speeded up). Thusly, they both fill in the hole and make the turbo speed up a bit quicker. Tend to be in drag cars, but I thibnk it's work fine on the street/track (till the bottle runs out).

Im not to bothered about cats... i find them a pest and they always **** under my car which makes me paranoid that my gearbox is leaking :p

But really I dont run a cat anyway (never had any real mot problems)

the idea of running nos for off boost makes sense....but the way i was told that on drag cars it was injected into the manifold before the turbo where it mixes with excess fuel and drives the turbine making pretty much full boost pressure even at idle...
hardly something you can have on a normal car (id imagine the manifold would turn into a pipe bomb and any normal turbine turn into vapor in the blink of an eye) I found it interesting either way :)

The other type ive heard of is like an external waste gate that lets air into the manifold which gives oxygen to ignite fuel pumped into the manifold by simply missing a spark here and there.
Im not sure how this would work because the pressure would simply leave the valve id of thought... maybe the air is pumped into the manifold by the turbos compressor. but then this would not work unless the valve opened while the turbo was already making boost. lol

Guess the basic idea works for these guys VVV but again not something id expect to see on a normal car

only nitros anti lag I've seen is on turbo drag cars where its injected into the manifold along with a very rich running engine that turns the Turbo into basically a jet engine.

the new antilag on Ms is from what I figure is on most production rally cars (like what the latest rally evo has iirc) and it basically opens a bypass valve along with bumping extra fuel with very retarded ignition.

its not far from what the current antilag is but you need to hold the throttle open. it works but the driving style is strange and awkward. and just not convenient.

the new system just means you drive as normal and all the anti lag is done for you.

the Guy looks to be working on a cooling system that is normally used on this type of anti lag which disables sparks in a set sequance so that each cylinder can have a couple of non powered strokes to cool the exhaust valve and seat down.

Thats awesome. Mind pointing us in the direction of the code? :D

the manifold looks like its coming along nicely!

been prepping matts car for a respray tomorrow so not much progress. welded inserts for the vacume feeds and brake solenoid onto the end plate of the manifold. need to order an extra now for the antilag :(
