that is the spin on type filter, hammering a small flat head screwdriver through the filter and using that to turn it will probably work, do this near the end poking out not at the base/engine block endhere is a pic of the strap thing.
You got it off? The filter, I did suggest you try and move the filterOMG IM SHOVERRRIIIJNNNGGGGGN LOOOOOOK

Thankyou, saw this too late but did put oil on the filter. I have cardboard under to check for leaks. Just worried theres too much oil in there now.Well done, a bit of success always makes you feel good.
Note put a little oil on the rubber sealing ring before fitting new filter and nip it up firmly by hand, then with new oil run engine on tickover until oil light goes out then rev a bit , switch off and check for oil leaks , finally top up oil to max on stick on level ground.
Sump plug tight but not over tight I trust![]()

Well done!
I feel bad now, I recommended that strap tool to you. I have a few filter tools and that's my favourite, I find it works on everything.

Mine has one grippy side. Works best if you clean the outside of the filter first and strap needs to be tight.
