It's a ripoff. Shops full of overpriced tat & they guilt trip people into buying this stuff for the one they love - and the huge majority of this stuff will be chucked in a corner & never see the light of day.
As for flowers - well, treble the price.
It's just another excuse for card companies to make a killing.


Also, isn't the idea of valentines to be about secret admirers?

apart from this thread ive not seen or heard anyone use the St or saint bit for years, so what's it all about anyway is it a religious thing?

edit yep googled it. saints are a religious thing, good enough reason to ignore that then

That's what I thought too. And if I knew where to send a couple of flowers or something to a couple of ladies, then I might have, secretly.
As a single bloke, its not something I've ever bothered with though.

I bought the better half a card but that's bout it. I always tell her how much I love her everyday anyway. IMO its a bit of a con but saying that isn't Christmas?

I see it as a day to be even nicer to each other like Christmas.

not yet, made a few vocal mistakes, should have said i sent it due to love.
and not cause she said she wanted one, got xx on messages yesterday but not today
so just working on it next week then gonna let absence grow the mind n that ********, not got boob yet
