haha to much playing with your head mate :D

i find playing with my head is fun :D :D :D

engine now partailly stripped again  they say everything happens for a reason........well my stupidity and blindness has worked out well! :D when i took the head off, all 4 cylinders had puddles of oil in them, i could say it was because the feed hole was covered, but how did it squirt so much under the HG? accident waiting to happen in a cloud of blue smoke

start to worry about piston rings but then realise they were fine a few days ago and it's only ran 5 minutes since then, so i doubt all 4 would suffer death that quick, looked closely at the donor head, took off tensioner, laid it flat on the ground...the donor head turns out to be not quite as even as i'd like  no matter where i lay it flat, im getting a small wobble from the same place, incedentally, next to the cylinder that when it lived on the sei that was metioned a few days ago, crazy clean and shiney, think we know why now :D

so yeah, my error has actually saved a catastrophe long term, everything really must happen for a reason :D

The head your using, is it compatable? do the holes in the block match the head, is there any errosion around the coolant/oil holes on the head? is the head badly warped?

If your satisfied with the above, then it's time to get the head skimmed, and a fresh gasket.

sounds like the HG was on upside down and blocking the oil feeds...

well done poirot

yeah it was, just as well as it turns out given the head wasn't flush, possibly would have just blew the gasket in a few months. lesson learnt, would have been more dissapointed with myself had the head been ok

John, yeah head is perfect match, all SPI FIRE heads are interchangeable...infact MPI ones are too, but youd need to change to MPI to get it working, but all the holes from block to head match on both types :) head is in good condition bar the warpage, no corrosion around any coolant hole, just a slight uneveness to the face, possibly about a quarter or half a MM, just gives a tiny wobble from one area when placed on a flat surface, definitely skimmable i think :)

You've nay chance James.
That's the one thing Mark will NOT part with.

not true..... i'd sell them if somebody offered more than i think they are worth, basicly, if i got silly money then i'd just about be tempted to consider it

until then though, nae chance

Dam ,, worth a shot... pritty please .. with a cherry on top ?

Make Mark a better offer than that James

yeah im guessing thats agra as i think they have always been around 35 mark which isnt that bad :D

and just for shits and giggles marks offered me the wheels for 75 :D

nah, engine resource down at polepark, have had trouble getting hold of arga for a guestimate quote

no idea how much the shimming will be on top of the skimming though, i'd rather do it myself really but it's one of those jobs where precision is needed, so stuff that
