Hi guys ,

What is this broken hose? ... Should go into the airbox but snapped off.

I'm wondering if this is causing my random rough starts ?

Thank you in advance!

Its a breather hose. It won't be causing your random rough starts. But it will be causing a petrol smell inside the car if you have the air conditioning on.

There's no easy fix for this. You can't buy the airboxes for sensible money, meaning the only real option is to repair the lug on the airbox yourself. I tried to fix mine recently and it wasn't successful, so I just gave up. The occasional stinky smell isn't a major problem for me.

You can buy the airbox here for £81.

I keep plugging Speedy-Fix glue on here. it WILL repair this and also the broken off bit that holds the airbox. I have now done three cars and it is instantaneous join glue, and mega strong. I had exactly this scenario on our 2011 car and the fix was still good 5 years later when we sold it 3 weeks ago. I also broke... and fixed the new one on the new car.... They need firm but gentle handling. Look for Speedy-Fix on eBay. Astonishong stuff. Its also done our broken slow cooker knob and panel (2 years and counting) amd my new Panda bumper, 5 years and holding.

Always pull the small hose off (towards the rear of the car) before removing the airbox. Carefully support the rear centre bush and lift it upwards vertically. Remove the hoses before trying to turn it over or remove it. The bigger hose in your picture is incorrectly fitted. Get the little brass pipe and the broken plastic bit back out of the the narrow pipe you can also see and reglue that too. East and cheap, as long as you have the bits that broke off Seriously anyone could mend this with this product. Any black car-plastic can be repaired with this stuff. I personally think Speedy-Fix is stronger than the original plastic.

Random rough starts, I would change the plugs and clean the throttle body which does not like being gunged up. If you remove the TB note the bolts need to be little more than finger tight when reassembling it. 4-6lbft. Some rough starts seem to result on cold mornong from condensation on plugs and leads.

It is the breather hose and you should be able to buy it separately by the airbox. I could buy it, for my Punto. It should fit on Panda too, so I'll put the part number of what I got. Note: the part that comes on to the camshaft cover was slightly larger, I put a hose on the cover's pipe and a tightening collar over the breather and it's ok.
It is a problem to let it like that and it could be causing the random rough starts (if no other problems like bad spark plugs or so on...) as with it broken, the manifold pressure is not between its functional limits.
Breathing hose: 60652289 or 46536776.

It's all those oil vapors coming through the breather hose. Ironically, they won't be coming now, but @quotethepigeon don't let it like that, try and replace the breather.
TB could use a cleaning. Using diesel (on a cloth) is very efficient in cleaning that up.

There's nothing wrong with the breather hose; it's the spigot on the airbox that's broken. You just need to pull what's left of the spigot out of the hose and repair or replace the airbox.

You might be able to find, make or modify a suitable brass spigot and tap it into the airbox, much cheaper than replacing the whole airbox.

If it is of roughly the correct diameter get a piece of 10mm copper plumbing tube (microbore), heat it with blow lamp or similar and press it into the plastic of the airbox; the softened plastic of the airbox should form a bond/seal.

This
Cur the old one of off flush and replace with a brass air line taper hose connector

Trill the Airbox out to just smaller then the diameter of the fitting and a decent silicone should hold it in place
