My two cents back on the original thread - timing belt change.
Changed the cam belt yesterday night on a friend's panda 312 and noted that the pulley marks did not match the marks stamped on the original belt (car was bought new, this is the first belt change, belt is stamped with fpt logos). Found it strange, but hey this fire is in perfect condition so no way the timing is off.
Put on the new belt (continental) and the marks do not match with the pulleys as on the original belt, parts dealer checked with car VIN so my friend was sure the belt was the correct one. Same teeth number, same lenght and same width of the original belt, so who cares : locked the pulleys, changed belt and water pump and the little panda is back on the road, all systems green.
Found it strange though, fire engines are almost the same, maybe those marks are for another engine version ?
