I posted somewhere this morning it was close to 40 then moved float down it we t to 20 then at the bottom zero

Mmm possibly a decimal point missed or bad contact

This is measured disconnected and at the pump connector

Should be roughly

Fully up should be 30 ohms
Full down should be 300

Sorry it's all wrong just got my son to help me and this is weird empty 298
Full 35
Middle 174
Empty 298

Great

35 is correct

Tape the float in this up position

Pug it into the harness

Switch the ignition on

Don't worry the motor will spin for about 3 seconds only and switch off

Wait, the needle will slowly rise, give it a good 30 seconds to settle, what the highest it reaches

Unfortunately my son put it all back together so unable to carry that out

Connect the car's wiring to the old pump. Keep the floater up and turn the ignition on (not crank). Where does the needle go? And when you let the floater easily down, needle does what?

Koala mate we did as instructed plugged the old pump in put the float to the top switched on ignition position 1 the fuel gauge went up to full then we let the float down to zero nothing happened it stayed at full we turned the ignition off moved the float to halfway switched ignition on gauge went to half moved the float up it stayed at half so wherever you put the float it goes there but can't be altered so the gauge is functioning
