You will be getting rid of the fan LEDs.... right?
I must admit I'm not a huge fan of LED fans either.

This is what I had

FridayThe13th.JPG

Was bloody loud and rather hard to sleep next to. Not to mention the LED's made it embarassingly crappy looking :p

Fair enough to you sir :)
I personally hate the glow and I disconnected the power light and only have the HDD LED on mine connected. However, I sit opposite my case and look up at the monitor, so the LEDs were starting to blind me.

Yours under the desk won't be blinding you all the time :)

306Maxi - In my opinion Antec make awesome cases. I have the Antec TX1088AMG, but want to replace it with the infinitely superior P182 :D

Yes it's definitely down to personal preference :) I quite liked my 1000 AMG with its blue LED fans at first but not long after I started to dislike it. The one thing which screwed me up with that case was the fact that for some reason my mum threw the purple plastic fan mounting for the the hard drive cage out and I lost 3 seperate hard drives in that case. Since I got a P180 everything has been fine.

I personally would never buy anything other than an Antec case as they're well built, not too flashy and fairly good to work on though to be fair my P180 is a bitch but I knew that when I bought it.

I need to have a dig around in mine.

I installed a sapphire 4870 last night, tand I have a reoccurring resonance problems that cause the case to vibrate horribly. i need to find out what is resontating and clamp it down. It is definatly one o the hard drives, I just need to have a tidy up in the case.

Get onto Antex about the plastic mounting fan. They are usually really good with sending out free spares.

I don't have the case anymore. It was my raptor which was causing problems as it ran fairly hot and whenever there was another drive in the same enclosure but the other drive invariably died :(

Vista handles what? Compatability mode? Doesn't help when an app is actually searching WMI for a string saying Microsoft Windows XP!

I had a chieftec Dragon... looks exactly the same as that Antec!

Yeah cheiftec did an identical case.

Sorry perhaps my statement wasn't as accurate as it should have been. Vista handles the vast majority of things just fine and most times you won't even need to go into compatibility mode or apply any patches to run most apps in Vista 64

Here we go, my new PC build is underway - so thought I would let you have glimpse of my work in progress to date.

Nothing has been purchased yet, plus the market moves so quick...

The idea is to spec up a decent gaming machine, with my current machine being moved onto the network, and being on 24/7 as it is now, for seeding, kids, etc ;)

The new machine is a bit power hungry, so will get turned off at night ;)

Let me know your thoughts (y) plus fill in the missing gaps ;)

ALL OUT OF DATE & REMOVED - SEE LATER POSTS....

Sorry bro can't help you with the words..

Boot drive failure, 3 week old hard-drive!!! :bang:

It was a 74GB WD Velicoraptor as well - SMART failure, and even WD diagnostics on it fails to complete, even on the quick test!

And now BIOS doesn't even recognise it, let alone trying to repair it.

So RMA'ing it, and hopefully getting it all back up to spec as soon as possible. Aargh......

Bad luck. I had one of the original 36 gig raptor fail on me back in 2004 within the first week. Got a replacement and it's still going strong as my main OS drive.
