General Little vent??????

does anyone know what the little vent infront of the gear knob does?
have changed to all settings on dial and no air comes out, what does it do??
location for a push button starter

I think that if you have climate control, then that's where the air temperature is sampled. If (like me) you don't have climate control, it does nothing.
