Now - if I could just find out which type of link - same side screws or alternate - would get round the problem of fouling on the strut.

Yes - they look really neat and would offer the option, but there's no way I'd bend one - or any droplink - so the question remains - and presumably could be answered by those who've put Koni Sports on the front - is there a configuration that prevents interference on lock? Out of interest, is it the inside or outside strut that touches - ie left hand strut on left or right lock?

You need the old style "same side" drop link.. as fitted to pre 2009 cars. Have a read back to post 163'ish of this thread. Some photos of my fit.

That's great, thank you - a rose-jointed link allows either configuration, which is another benefit. It also occurs to me that the 100HP should have shorter droplinks than the other 2wd Pandas, for the anti-roll bar to be working optimally, as it sits nearly an inch lower, unless the brackets (that appear to be the source of any problems) are mounted higher relative to the ARB. I realise I'm being picky - once again tailor-made links would enable the operation of the ARB to be optimised (as jnoiles said earlier - by the way, if I take the lunge I'll take you up on that helpful offer on the bolts).

More second thoughts (third thoughts?) - if the 100Hp has the same links as other Pandas could the resulting change in angles be the cause of the fouling problem? (Not long back from a four-plus hour lunch on the outskirts of Rome - Mrs b_u driving - so not thinking too quickly.)

Daft question maybe and probably know answer already, but gonna ask for clarification.
When fitting 'Camber Bolts' to front hub, does vehicle have to be on the 'Level' in order to attain correct -1 degree adjustment ?.

or can I just jack up the front end and put it on axle stands and put camber gauge on hub in that position ?

Thanks Y'all.

Having read through this thread with interest, I have bit the bullet and ordered the rear koni sports from motorsportsworld. :)

Away on business this week, so hopefully get them fitted next weekend.
Got a weekend away the following one with a long drive, to see Madness at Minehead, so will get a chance to see what a difference they make.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread and did the groundwork on improving an already cracking little car!

I'm interested in what effect the Koni dampers have on the 'crashiness' of the ride.

The pogoing doesnt bother me too much but the harshness is getting a bit tiresome.

hi, i now have 4 koni shock absorbers, eibach springs and verry important ...i fittet the shorter bumpstops inside the rear springs to replace the original bumpstops of the 100hp, The car is really great now.
Only since a few weeks i have a knocking noise left front. i changed the stabisator link's but still ... knocking...grrr ...
wat can it be? only 50000 miles. can it be the front suspension arms?

ciao

Fitted the rear koni's this afternoon and initial impressions are positive. :)
Set them at 0.75 turns and the pogo'ing has gone and knocking noise too.
Big thanks to rturner for his blog page, made the job a piece of cake! :D

Just fitted a pair of Koni Sports (with half a turn on) to the rear of the car, and the difference is remarkable - much better controlled and more stable.

If you're reading this thread and wondering whether or not to put some on your 100HP, do it, and do it now - you won't regret it!

Gaz at Chelmsford have made a set of shocks for the new-shape Panda and with their uprated springs its made a good ride now really terrific, excellent handling. Gaz are probably the only people who have tackled the new-shap Panda. (see www.africarecordrun.com )

If I get a chance to catch up with Derek or Mark at Gaz, I will give them my OEM rear shocks for the 100HP.
I remember reading a post somewhere saying they needed some to be able to develop them.
(I've been a guinea pig for them before on Gaz Gold Pro's so happy to do it again) ;)

Babbo_umbro and everyone else, has the problem with the droplinks and Koni sports been resolved?

Is the only option the custom made droplinks pictured previously or is there a supplier of pre-2009 style droplinks?

Thanks!

Thanks Dan!

Today I put a deposit down for a 100, looking forward to picking it up!

It needs a cambelt change, do you guys recommend any Fiat specialists in Berkshire?

Also the rear right bump stop has fallen off and sits inside the spring, I want to remove it before I drive it home, how easy is to do this?
