Technical Immobilizer Problem

I have a fiat punto and every time i go over a bump the key code light comes on. The other day it would not start up at all. Has anybody got any ideas of what this problem might be.

What mark of punto is it MK1, MK2 ect..? could be moisture on the code box connectors, also maybe bad connection or loose wiring in the streeing column..

It' s a punto 1.7 SX i have had the steering column off and checked the wires that lead from the aerial around the key barrel, they seem fine. Where about is the ECU located i had a look for it yesterday night but could'nt see much with all the darkness and was'nt quite sure what i was looking for.

The ECU is in the engine bay im sure its on the left hand side (drivers side) greyish box..

Yes it's a diesel.

Checked the connections leading to the ECU removed them all and sprayed some electrical contact cleaner in them and everything seem's to be fine. Thankyou for all your help.
