Technical Highest Mileage?

My 2005 Stilo Wagon had 136,300 Miles when the transmission bearings failed. Mostly did autobahn ( motorway) driving at 100 MPH or more. All maintance done by dealer, at recommeded intervals, with NO HOLES in service record. Someone here said regular maint is the Key and I agree 100%

My 2004 Stilo wagon has 83,200 miles on it and everything is fine. Not so many autobahn miles now as I have a job closer to home.

Both are / were diesel

My 52 plate 3dr Stilo has 76,000, replaced the gearbox and clutch last year and she drives like a new car. I love her:p

I started reading this thread thinking wow all these old cars have such low mileage! Then I saw the date....

The previous engine in my 2006 Stilo Abarth had done over 150000 before it started smoking and basically gave up. The replacement out of a 2002 Abarth has done 75000 miles and runs sweet.

So, what's the conclusion regarding petrol engines? Can you expect 100,000 miles plus without internal problems provided servicing has been as per schedule?

Any car should do 100k if looked after. Got a 1.6 petrol merc outside with 130k on the clock - engine runs like a kitten! Crikey my first car had 234k miles on it and it was the body that died before the engine!

My 14 year old Mk3 Golf tdi had 230k on the clock.

I was the original owner - and it still didn't burn oil, averaged 55mpg and went like a rocket.

My recently acquired 2nd hand Stilo JTD estate has 105k - and is barely run in !

I expect to get at least another 50k out of it, or it's going over a cliff !

Bet some of your pandas have fair few miles on them by now Mr. Lowestoft?

Our highest currently is 113k, had one with about 120k, have seen an auto version with 160k, and a 4x4 with 190k! Lol. Not bad going for small cars.

My Stilo is currently on 83k, I got it 2 years ago (to the day almost) with 46k. I've no intention to sell it any time soon and would like to see 150k on it before it gets sold.

My JTD115 has just passed 107k. I have had it since Oct 09 when it had 72k. Had the cambelt done at 100K and replaced a solenoid which I killed driving through a flood. Otherwise ok (touch wood). (y)

i've been going to work this week in a vw transporter van 02 plate with 320,000 miles on it:eek:

owner says it's not got quite as much poke as it use to have and it's using a little bit of oil.

my stilo's got 88000 miles on it.

158K 1.9JTD 115Hp on an 03 plate. Until I got my hands on her she had had a full service history at rockingham motors where she was brought from. In the first two weeks I did a service, brake light switch and reversing light switch. Now has the death rattle and have a new crank pulley ready to fit. Compared to my r reg mondeo with only 35K on the clock she feels a lot tighter and better to drive.

Mine is a 52 Stilo JTD - currently 102k miles, bought it last year June with 87k (needed a lot of TLC then). Can't believe i average 1k a month. Maintenance is key. Still strong.

I got a surprise today though ... i hooked it to the laptop via a Vagcom usb cable using FES 3.2 - The odometer was reading 873K kilometers - that is about 542K miles....

The software is supposed to be very accurate .. right? If so, could the car be clocked? just wondering 102K miles compared to 542K miles is a long way off.

Any comments will be much appreciated.:)
