And here is another strange little fact, all you Cinq owners could have been driving around in the original designed Fiat cinquecento (later became the Daewoo matiz)....

The photos in the first post aren't the Coupe replacement. They were rumoured to be a mid engined car which would be the spiritual successor to the Fiat X1/9.

Here's an article I found from a website I used to maintain, dated 9th February 2005 about the X1/99;

"Fiat are expected to unveil another concept car at the Geneva Motorshow in March which could well make it into production. The Fiat X1/99 which has been designed by The Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) has been sanctioned by Fiat for further development.

Based on the new Punto platform (Progetto 199) the X1/99 is a coupe/cabriolet with 2+2 seating. The name of the car suggests that Fiat intend it to be the spiritual successor to the X1/9, the seventies roadster which has now reached classic status and has a large following."

phew, thank god they didn't use that!

Apparantely, the original Nissan Micra was a rejected Uno design, seems like the Japs like taking all the rejects :nutter:
