What's a proper breakfast then?

It's a bad day for me. A bag of crisps at 11am and although I'm having soup for lunch I've added to the calories by grating cheese on top of it. It tastes delicious but I have to jog tonight to make up for it. Luckily it's no longer raining.

Nice weather in Peterhead. You can keep the rain.

Proper by my standards was a bowl of cereal with semi skim. Cornflakes from tomorrow.

Not the greatest of lunches, but meh. Sausage roll, some random brown bread and my usual Bananna Crunch corner. Should keep me going til Supper, whenever that'll be tonight!

It's over a month since I started this healthy living thing and apart from a few mishaps it's not been too bad. This week, however, is a bit more of a challenge as work is especially stressful at the moment. The good thing is I'm no longer using alcohol as a way of unwinding and I realised tonight I don't even miss it. I think it's because at night I go out and get some exercise regardless of the weather and this relaxes me better than a wee tipple. I'm even coping with the chocolate cravings although admittedly by having a small piece of cocoa-rich dark chocolate which not only settles the want but is possibly healthy too :)

Now if only I could see some decent results from all this hard work. meh

Pics of my actual lunch ming?

@Harper - my day today was good. Very tired/sore as didn't really sleep last night, but managed to hold back on eating anything too bad. Cereal for breakfast, soup and brown bread then a yoghurt for luch, spag. bol for supper the only thing bad Ive had really was ice-cream and a donut for pudding.

I had two double cheeseburgers and medium fries for tea from maccy d's

I know I know, failed this is hard work this healthy stuff

Is it me or has it gone quiet in here?

hmm things haven't gone so well for me food wise, so I haven't been weighing myself on Mondays as planned. I've kept up the biking/walking to work and having a walk around the castle at lunch time so have felt some difference in my body and the way I feel.

Hopefully get back on track food wise over the next week or so. Not having any alcohol, less chocolate and less crisps.

Had Toby carvery tonight for tea and away to a seminar tomorrow night with beef dinner included :)

you're a credit to us all ;p Seriously though, your diet sounds much healthier than it was before. Does it feel like it's making a difference?

lol, it sounds like your heart isn't really in it so here's a few facts to scare/inspire you. Body fat content is 25% in women compared with 15% in men. Muscles are the most efficient tissue for burning calories however we have less than men to start with. In fact we are better at laying down fat stores than muscle stores. Finally, your metabolism starts slowing down as you get older and it gets harder to lose weight.

It's much easier to lose weight in your 20s and even easier if you don't put it on in the first place. I knew this in my 20s but preferred to live for the moment which is why it's such hard work for me now.

At least the exercise is going well Rich. And with your finals so close I'm amazed you're still trying to stick to healthy food. I almost lived on chocolate and crisps when I was doing mine.

Hmmmn, I hadn't planned on adding anything to this thread today but my concentration is non-existent thanks to a sleepless night so here I am. I'm too tired to do anything today which is good because I can't be arsed to eat but bad as I have a deadline to meet. Can you mainline diet coke?

It's gonna be another quiet weekend again. I aim to keep the treats to a minimum and continue with the exercise thing. I've already arranged to take my sisters 2 overly energetic and slightly mad dogs for a long walk on Sunday afternoon - note to self coerce nephew into keeping me company. He's at that age where he's easy to bribe

Last night I went out for jog/walk. I can now legitimately put jog/walk as I'm jogging for 2 songs and walking for 1 over a course of 3.5 miles. It's good progress and still no sign of shin splints. So all in all things aren't going to bad. Now if only I can get some sleep

Night all

Had a roast pork dinner with plenty veg last night at an ICE seminar. Was good too and just had diet pepsi and water instead of the nice heavy lake district beer on offer :nono:

TBH looking at some of my peers there last night has given me a little bit more focus to get myself sorted out. Whilst they may be happy with a bit of belly, I don't fancy that. Never had a "six-pack" and not aiming for one either but would rather try for a flatter stomach. God, starting to sound like a right woman

AFAIK I'm off work tonight...so helping move a shed, then early night and planning a good run on the bike again tomorrow.

Food wise today is a bit better again, bar a wee rowie with my cereal - OCS gig straight after work last night so only grabbed a quick bite pre gig. Back to soup/brown bread/yoghurt for lunch. This healthier eating plan is working, so far! I've also realised, I haven't been to the burger van all week. Bearing in mind its literally round the corner from me, that's a good sign.

Might take the bike a diferent route this weekend, possibly out the other way on the railway line towards Culter. Haven't been out that way - on the bike - in years!

Oi! nothing wrong with that. We're worth aspiring to ;)

LOL right..productive day again.

Must have put in about 15 miles on the bike. Stuck to my plan to go out to Peterculter on the bike, got as far as the old Kennerty Farm which is in the middle of nowhere, then turned back and headed for the Duthie Park. Usual story there, did a lap then home. Food wise going well too, toast for breakfast, tomato soup with bread for lunch, a couple of wee biscuits and thats it.

Back on the bike tomorrow again!

I'm impressed Martyn, 15 miles is a decent distance

Bad day for me. Woke up full of the cold and been suffering all day. Think I may have taken the "feed a cold, starve a fever" maxim a bit too far. Back on the wagon again
