It sounds like we all need to make more of an effort this week. Anyone willing to post an aim?

Mine is no chocolate, crisps or alcohol until Friday night.

It's going to be a long week :(

This this would be an idea. Uni day, ooh dear, bowl of frosties at 5.30, sausages in a roll @ 8.30, then I only had a 6" sub at lunch and 9" meat feast and 1/2 a 9" garlic bread with cheese. Man I have no will power to tasty food.

As above, can happily do without sweets, fizzy drinks, crisps etc. It's just tea times I struggle most, should have some healthy home cooked meals this week and will be walking/biking to/from work, except Wednesday when I'm at the dentist in Annan. Now the lighter nights are coming, were also going to try get out for a walk in the park across the road.

I'm normally not bothered by sweets but the cleaners at work have taken to leaving me a toffee or humbug when they stop by for a chat. It would be rude of me to refuse ;)

And we won't mention cheese scones at coffee time in the morning. I'm definitely not ready to quit those yet

tonight (monday) meant....fifa 11 all night with 3 large pizzas and 2 sides from pizza hut...and alot of beers (about 8 each)...between 3 of us.

In at 9 for some art school fun...maybe.

gyming it tomorrow, 30 mins cardio - weights - then another 30 mins cardio high resistance, then back to the flat for fifa round 2 :) ..more beer and pizza ahead...It'll even itself out right ?

Trying to be good today if only because I know there'll be very little or no exercise at all tonight to make up for it. I won't have time for my usual walk/run therefore will have to force myself to do some core work. I hate, really hate press-ups and plank and can find any excuse not to do them. I should go back to circuits as that was the only time I'd do things properly but I like my lazy Saturday mornings too much.

Someone give me some motivation please

Burger van for lunch. This healthy eating is getting worse and worse :(

I wouldn't have...but we've been having power cuts which creates all sorts of issues. Also the evening guy is ill and no replacements are avail, so I'm here til 9pm now.

Honestly....excercise from tomorrow again!

Av had quite a good day tbh. Was running late so biked instead of walking to work, no chocolate, no ice-cream, no crisips. Ham sarnie & harvest bar for lunch and mince an tatties for tea.

Got dentist tomorrow so have car, but will make up for that wi a wander round the castle at lunch. Ah should really do some sit-ups/press-ups before bed or something, but cana be arsed lol

I always listen to it before a game start too :p

Lyrics at the start is amazing -

"Cause sometimes you feel tired,
feel weak, and when you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up.
But you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strength
and just pull that **** out of you and get that motivation to not give up
and not be a quitter, no matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face and collapse."

Last night done some lamp post running :) for 2 miles long then ran 2 miles. Basically is normal speed to one lamp post then full sprint to the next keep repeating till ya home. You will burn off the fat so much quicker if ya sprinting than just jogging even for just a several short sprint when ya out running.

See the walk/run I have no problem with and even look forward to especially if I've had a crap day at work. I used to run extensively as recently as 5 years ago but got scuppered by injury and have fallen into bad habits since. If things continue to go as they are I'm considering setting myself targets of the Baker Hughes 10k in May and possibly the Glasgow 1/2 again in September. It's core work I hate and that's where I need to be pushed.

Ever done hill work Ming? It's where you sprint up a decent size hill and jog down it, repeat several times. It's a killer but great training

Haven't done hill running, i focus my running to replicate the way I run in basketball, so is sprint run sprint run. But is good to build resistence on hill runs, but the route i choose is hilly as fook :p

I'll done a 10k before is probably the best (the most fun distance) to do. Done it in 45, like to hit the 40 mark the next one i do :) .

Yeah, I can see sprint, run, sprint working better for basketball. Short bursts don't work for me so I'm more a long distance gal - probably because I have plenty of natural energy stores to sustain me over a longer period of time

According to a sports scientist I know you burn as much fat jogging (~ 5 mph) as you do during high intensity interval training. However, scientists are always changing their minds ;) so this may no longer be the case and I'm happy to stand corrected

I also don't believe you can lose weight simply by exercising: it has to be done in conjunction with a healthy diet regime.

It was pointed out to me by my trainer at the gym "if you go ON a diet . . . you will have to come OFF of the diet again" you have to have a "life change" so its not just a case of eating healthy till you loose the weight, you have to keep eating right once you are happy with your body.

I couldn't understand why after months of weight training I still had the body of a 10 year old boy!! but once they explained its about 70% down to what you eat, I started seeing vast improvements :) and now that I have started going back to the gym again I can see my body changing on a weekly basis :D
