Yeh mate, thought about going as it's just roun the corner then though of all the money I'd save by just repairing my bike instead and cycling a bit more.

The plan for tomorrow is to fit new brake cables, get the bike going and having a wee run somewhere.

How is everyone getting on with this or has it gone by the wayside?

Things are a bit hit and miss for me. I've managed to cut out crisps but have replaced them with starbars - not good and damn you works vending machine for stocking them. After a bad start to the week I cut back on alcohol and intend to stick with not drinking Sunday to Thursday and drinking less at the weekend. So far so good on that one.

Luckily I've managed to stick to the exercise plan including the stretches and strengthening ones prescribed by the physio. I've even done them at work much to the hilarity of my boss who walked past me bouncing up and down on the edge of a stair.

The result of all this? nothing noticeable yet but it's early days.

I'm doing well...I think.

Lapsed a wee bit with the Sandwhiches/Soup thing at lunchtime, but I don't think it's possible to cut out eating burgers/chips completely. I'm doing ok in that respect.

Last night i was doing a Karaoke at a bar in town where my mates one of the supervisors. Had the option to park my car at the back door in the single parking space they have, then have a beer. This would have then been followed by a couple of pints of Guiness in O'Donnohughes(SP) For the second weekend in a row, and I've no idea why, I turned down the offer of free beer. This 9 month tee total thing is going to be tricky, but I'm going to be able to give it a good shot.

That said, tonights works Christmas night out. Curry + Beer post football. What was I saying about things going well?

My biggest weaknes is the vending machine's at work.
We all have swipe card which are for the vending machine's, problem is when you have top put more money on the card, you have to do it at the machine with the Chocolate, Crips & sweets..... so it's sort of a calling to buy chocolate....

Was 2lbs over my goal weight last week @ WW... so only got 3lbs to play with then I have to start paying for the meeting... no chance.

Im struggling, the longer hours at work are making it too easy to eat shite at lunch time, because im too tired to make my lunch before i go to work. Oh and to mention that im becoming addicted to toffeecrisps, there horrific for ya

ive cut beet/alco out for nearly 2 years now... not too loose weight just as money saving lol. so far so good. think ive drank once since i started uni :)

A student who doesn't drink? Really? There were a few of them in halls when I was at university and the looks we got when staggering back to our rooms drunk were cringe-worthy, a mixture of disgust and pity. Not helped by the fact my friend and I were in our mid-20s and they were 18 year olds.

I blame the university lol - each college housed the halls of residence as well as the student bar and it was very easy to get pissed cheaply and stagger home safely. Ah those were the days...

yeh really lol. rather than going for the halls i got my own house. pets. mrs. no money for beer... trust me if i had cash i prolly would :p.

You didn't miss much in halls tbh. With the exception of proximity to the pub it was hell and not something I would recommend to mature students. Perhaps that's why I turned to drink

Had a relatively good day today. Excercise done, no crisps, no starbars and no booze. I did have a few chocolate truffles but only to see if the recipe worked before I take them into work tomorrow. Honest guv ;)

So, a week without a drop of my good old pal Alcomahol. If I last til October I think I'm going to have a huge binge in Aberdeen, to which you will all be invited. Just bring a bottle!

On the keep fit front I'm still waiting for my gym to open. Just over a month. In which time I plan to make some inroads towards better health. Spent a bit of yesterday afternoon faffing around with my brothers old bike. It's a bit of a bucket, but I've ressurected it to a point where I don't think I'll die by cycling it. So went a blast along the old deeside railway line to the Duthie Park, back along the Riverside to ASDA then the long way from there home (for locals, up Anderson drive rather than along the footpath)

All achieved - with a 10 minute stop in Asda - in around 50 minutes. Total distance is probably 5-6 miles if I'm lucky, so I'd be quite happy with that as I really haven't cycled in the best part of a decade. Had a run from Ellon to Maud once. But even that was about 7 years back!

Any one any good at sorting a healthy meal plan out for me, im trying but every diet type thing ive found has stuff in it that i dont like ;-(

Here's the thing...I'm not dieting. I find that whole points/calories thing to be a huge steaming pile of shite. Buy our food, attend our classes blah blah blah. Line the pockets of someone who ultimately doesn't give a **** what size you are as long as you pay them ££££.

What I've done, so far, is make small changes. Trying to cut out the snacks/crisps/sweets, eating more sensible meals and obviously getting more excecise. For lunch, instead of a trip to the burger van/McDonalds or a pie and chips I'm having soup or sandwhiches. Breakfast - no more bacon rolls or morning rolls (well, maybe once a week) but now cereal when I get to work instead. I'm even setting off earlier each morning to make sure I've got time to have breakfast before I start!
