Good day.

I hope you guys can help me.

While I was driving from one town to another uphill, my car suddenly just stopped working, the rev counter dropped to 0 and does not want to start. I have checked the timing belt and was still in place. engine only turns.

I have used an OBD scanner and it shows P0335 crank sensor position a circuit.

So I have done the following:
Replaced spark plugs
New cam sensor in
New crank sensor in
Checked timing marks of timing belt. still in place.
checked battery - still good and voltage still good
replaced Ignition coil

And still the engine only turns and the same error comes up. even after resetting.

What else can I check

Any chance the wiring to the crank shaft sensor is damaged?
I had crank sensor go on a 1.9td Doblo after 20 minutes cooling down I was able to drive home which is quite common .
I have had Punto wiring rotted through at the ECU plug, wire broken inside plastic sheathing so took some finding.:(

I will have to check for that

What year and what engine? There is a known problem with ECU plugs and associated wiring coming loose on the smaller engined version. I've seen pictures where people have put cable ties around the ECU plugs to make sure they are tight into the ECU.

Does the rev counter move while cranking

Does your scan tool register any revs

Great signal not seen by ECU

Are all the other warning lights okay

Is the oil, battery, engine check light all lite when you switch the ignition on

Does the immobiliser light go out

Do you hear the fuel pump prime

immobiliser light still on
do hear the fuel pump prime

Great

immobiliser light still on

The ECU will not do anything, no signal from the Crank sensor

The P0335 code hints it's not just the key

Do you have a test light or multimeter

Do you have a spare key

i have a multimeter, will test tomorrow morning. bit too dark now

I do have a spare key

Great

Meter on volts but one lead on the battery negative and the other on the engine block

Crank the engine

Voltage should remain under 0.2V but under 0.5V is still fine

Here's mine with a faulty earth and the block is going to battery voltage while cranking

And he immobiliser light stay on

So a good place to start

Engine light should stays on until its started

Is the oil pressure light going out, very quick while cranking

As soon as you stop cranking is there a delay before it comes back on

Does the battery light go out as you are cranking
