All of my cards are Class 10 (as is the one I linked to) however taken from the Mobius support thread:

Class 4 memory cards from popular manufacturers provide the best compatibility with this camera and are strongly recommended. Class 6 and Class 10 cards, at best, do NOTHING to improve the camera's video and cost more, and at worst, they may not work properly! If you are uncertain about what kind of memory card to buy, order one from the camera vendor when you place your order.

It's all a bit strange too because the class system is a poor method of measuring card performance. A Class 4 Scandisk may be considerably faster than a Class 4 Kingston or whatever. Then of course a UHS-I class 4 card will be much faster than a non UHS-I card on a UHS-I supporting device, but not on a non UHS-I device.

Oh the confusion :spin: what ever happened to proper standardisation. :)

Well this isn't really that cheap (although it is for the spec!) so I guess it's a bit OT, however Sony have recently released a firmware update that means the AS-15 action cam can do 60fps 1080P. That puts it up there with the Gopro Hero 3 Black Edition. Not only that from the footage I've seen it actually BBQ's the GP big time and has awesome image stabilisation.



And Amazon have it on special...

No however the wireless, on phone live viewing and mounting options are very good for this purpose. It will spank any dashcam quality wise and if you're the type of chap who likes to dive a shipwreck, or jump off a mountain with a snowboard and parachute on the way to work this is a very sensible choice. :D

It was a 160 of your English pounds, not the price they have it listed for now. Unfortunately I hesitated and missed out on an awesome purchase. :(

Anyhow just been reading through some literature, seems the RD32 series of cams record in a huge uncompressed format. This means you need fast cards and your videos take up loads of space, unlike the Mobius etc. which record in MP4 and are perfectly OK with the class 4 cards. The quality of the MP4 is the same if not better, so for car use the RD32 series is not a great choice and will lag with slower cards. I thought my 32-II used up a lot of card space, and now I understand why...

Anyhow at least I still have the Mobius to look forward too. :D

I'm confused, according to Techmoan's review, a 10 min file on the Mobius uses 1.32GB.
The 5 minute files off my DR32 are only 455MB.

The videos will take up MORE space on the Mobius.

Actually it seems my DR32 II is fine it's the DR32 that sucks (so the space must be my imagination :D). The DR32 records in motion Jpeg which Technoman actually points out in his review.

Edit: incase you chaps don't realise the RD32 is sold in many cases and formats, but they are all the same cam made by Redleaf. Mine is just wrapped in heatshrink with no screen...

Crikey me too, you're talking about the 808 #18 . I have one of those too and apart from it being a bit buggy the quality is great, much better colour than the #16 in my experience. However I'm expecting the Mobius to be better (at least I hope so). I can guarantee the AS 15 would eat it for breakfast, however the 808's absolutely mince the original RD32. However (lets make it more confusing) the RD32 II is rather good. :)

The Chinese really need to work out some better designations for their kit... :spin:

Especially since the 808 #18 is simply the younger brother of the #16 - both keychain cameras housed in the same fob.

The DR32 is out of the same stable and the official designation is 808 #18 DR32

The story, so I'm led to believe is two developers were working together on the 808 #11 and earlier fobs. After #11 they went there separate ways and one developed the #16 and the other the number#18 (both in the same fob case). Now the Mobius is the new camera from the #16 developer which has finally broken the number naming game and shape. However the #18 developer has released the #26 which is still fob shaped but much bigger. The #16 developer has been active on several forums and listening to customers requests/stabilising firmware. Maybe the #18 developer has been busy with dash cams as people have been complaining about his firmware and support.

It's good these new cameras look different anyway, people were constantly getting ripped off by people selling #11 's claiming they were #18 's and #16 's.

That dash cam looks cute. (y)

It's a good cam - sadly, let down by a few units being sent out with sound issues plus early models didn't really have true image rotate.
You could mount the cam upside-down & the image would rotate on screen but still be recorded upside-down.
All the issues seem to have been fixed (but not for those of us who bought at the wrong time (n))
A pity I only became aware of the mobius just after I bought the DR32 :mad:
