Anyone know of a dash cam with a remote camera?

I don't really want the whole thing on the windscreen, I want to put the main body of the unit in the glove box and just the camera lens on a trailing lead on the windscreen.

Mobius will take an 8" lens extension.
Alternatively, the Innovv C3 comes with a lens on the end of quite a long lead - and the lens is waterproof.

Amazon website has been updated with comparisons of the previous Transcend models and it looks like the 200 will just edge the 220 with still having a better Lens and Lens design. Would have hoped it might have been updated a bit more being a newer version but it seems not in this instance.

I've seen that, better in some respects and not in others.

Right then, finally got around to fitting my rear cam (On the F70). It does record, however I have no idea how to play it on the PC. Front recordings are fine but comes up with an error if trying to play the rear?

The F70s have a bit of a reputation, there's shedloads of fakes out there so getting a good one is hit and miss. I bought a few and only one worked as it should. The others were OK with just the front cam.

Make sure you use a suitable card (I think a lower class is best with these iirc) and format it in the camera.

'Night vision' is a bit of a joke on a dashcam since the infra-red light simply bounces back off the windscreen so the video is just a whiteout.
The only way to get it to work would be to mount the camera externally - and even then, the IR is so weak it won't illuminate more than a few feet ahead.

Quick update - The rear cam does work, it was just having one of those wacky recordings that screw up. Had a few of those on the front cam too, guess it's a common thing?

Also checked out the blur, looks as if there is a small amount of... glitter? almost directly in line with the lens on the wrong side of the glass. Can't remove so in talks with the eBay fellow who doesn't sound like he wants to replace but may have to. If not is it an easy job to get into the lens compartment?

Cheers,

No issues with any of our 5, sounds like yours might be one of the dodgey counterfeit ones someone previously mentioned
