cheap dash cam?

i've got a nextbase 202 in the front of mine and it gives a really good quality image i got from halfrauds BUT i've also got one on i've fixed on the rear parcel shelf of my multipla i got off ebay ages ago from china for £15.99 (i think) with free postage and to be honest the image quality is just about identical but the audio from the nextbase is much better , so is the nextbase worth the extra £'s

not really then as the only audio recorded is swearing and talking to yourself

How to tell if my DC is starting to die?

I keep checked the disc - it always seems barley full

Todays the 11th - the last thing it recorded was on the 9th
I did drive on the 10th - but seems to have no records of it.....

Hope it aint dying....
Trying a computer format - then dash cam format
and a reset on the dash camera in hopes it fixes it

i have one card that does this, try new card

it's been a while since I posted on this, I never got one but want one now. any recommendations for what's good now?

Transcend 200 is my recent purchase, a good unit for the price, although I only use it along side my twin cam setup as well as prefer a rear view camera also :)

Dont get how its been fine for like 1 year with it - for it to suddenly dislike it

The card did cross my mind though

64gig card in my mobius did about 2000 hours without problem then started getting a bit 'glitchy'.
I thought it was a kingston but I reckon it was a copy as all the print was worn off.
Since then, I've noticed the power inverter that came with the mobius was also causing problems - I reckoned it got a bit warm & shut off. Being off for a while allowed it to cool down. Unplugging then plugging back in seemed to 'reset' it. Ended up buying a new 12v/5v adapter.

£80-90 is about right, but included everything to fit and go (card and mount).

Or you can get one of these, which is the dual camera unit that I also use (y)

Thats mine - still going strong :)
As my last micro card died - this one im using seems fine! :)

Battery life is **** - but i think they all are tbh
there more then enough for the camera to safely shutdown :)

I use an app on my android phone called autoguard. If I activate bluetooth on the phone, the app automatically starts (car has blue and me).

Full HD recording, impact detection, plots my location on a map using gps, which is displayed in the resulting videos.

Top notch, and cost if I remember correctly, £1.86 for the full version.

Can run in the background so you can still use google nav, etc.

Only downside is that with bluetooth and gps on, it fairly chomps through the battery.

Can be set up to call a contact if it detects a collision - I've turned this off, as it sometimes detects collisions when passing over sections of the Forth Road Bridge!

Automatically stops recording when the engine is turned off.

how long after? engines often cut out in a crash if driver gets out and runs off you want that on video

I assume as soon as bluetooth disconnects?

Personally I feel phone apps are not the way to go, most are useless and will cut out as soon as you get a call etc, and it involved fitting every journey. Good for when borrowing a car etc mind.

Yes, stops when bluetooth disconnects. Can also be set to not connect or disconnect via bluetooth, i.e. can have the user start / stop manually.

There's a property which allows recording to continue for a user specified time, after the app detects a collision.

Take your point about having to fit the phone into a cradle taking some time.

I have my cradle mounted in the tiny window section to the right of the dash. Takes about 10 seconds to activate bluetooth, put the phone in the cradle, and off you go.

So far, I've taken phone calls, used google nav and listened to podcasts all with no effect on the app.
