or get a splitter type device Such as the Ring Automative one

As they have a collar on the male plug - so it doesn't slop around and fall out
Since the punto uses a euro plug size vs the much more common japan size'

I love having 2 sockets as well!!

Unfortunately, and especially when you have relatives staying, it is more a case of
sit down at your peril. there's bound to be spuds to peel, pots to wash, cats to feed,tea to brew, beds to make up / strip down, rubbish to take out, coffee to make, wine to pour, musc to turn up / down/ off/ change (as somebody doesn't like your choice) etc.
yes, a Scalextric, a Guinness book of records and a selection box took some beating as a kid - well ok a new bike was always king of course!

OK so the last relative has gone (for now) so have a couple of days to sit down.
I have realised I should have ordered a micro SD card so just done that now.
So when it comes I will have a play with the dash cam. Is it just a case of set it going and then if anything worthwile happened you download from the camera on to a computer? Do you know if you can just keep recording over the existing files if you don't download them? I.E it just keeps making toom for newer images?

Correct, providing you don't save it it'll over write on a first in first out basis.

it doesn't hurt once in a while to pop card out and check its recording properly

Noticed my last batch were starting to freeze... (F70 dual lens btw)

So a good card format i'll see if that helps

Does anybody have any idea how much recording time a 32gb card gives?
If say you are on a three hour journey and something outrageous happens a short way in that you need to keep, it would be handy to know how long you've got before it starts over-writing.

mine lasts about 5 hours. but will keep files if i slam on.

but if something did happened its best to stop turn camera off n swap cards
sd cards are note very forgiving in data recovery

Personally, I turn the g sensor thing off. With all the potholes etc in this country I used to find I had a folder full of locked files all from potholes etc. Even setting the sensor to minimum didn't help. And once the locked files folder is full, you have to physically remove those files (as the cam doesn't overwrite them).

Different cameras record at different bitrates (I can set my mobius to low, medium or high) which will fill a card at different speeds.
on high bitrate, I can get 8.5 hours on a 64gig card, medium bitrate gives about 11 hours (or thereabouts).

mine fills up with utter rubbish - when there isn't a reason for it

Not that exact one - but yes, I have a similar setup. Given me no problems at all

Put some footage up dave and tell us how it is

Those inverters look like trouble - there is no fuse on the damn thing

So for any reason you get a positive shorting anywhere - its a mini wire fire or bad smell....
