and mine.. all for £33! (mine is the same as MEP's camera
What about one of those helmet type cameras, might be easier to install as it could sit on the dashboard (instead of near the rear view mirror) fairly unobtrusively? wonder if you can get one that loop records...

Hmm, says Adrian flux will give you an insurance discount.
Ordering a one of these from a British distributer tomorrowcan they be hard wired to an ignition source? Im guessing the massive 12v plug contains a 12v to 5v transformer?
for people with lots of money, these are said to be good http://www.chillibongo.com/
Interesting the way they keep promoting the 15% saving on insurance - I have yet to have an insurer offer anything when I mention a dashcam - even the insurer that saved a fortune when I offered up my footage.
i guess ones with out a screen are for people with video-in on their head units?
Techmoan did a review of this (type of) cam https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDS3Ih3KHWwThat one does look neat, thanks for the link. Allot of the others with screens could look like a sat nav to the uninitiated - don't want the car breaking into for the camera!
Found this too: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/K9M-HD-720P-Smallest-In-Car-Dash-Camcorder-Camera-Video-Register-Recorder-DV-DVR-/370707645058?pt=UK_Gadgets&hash=item564fe5c282
Looks identical to the Blackvue DR100? ... hmm 1.3 MP instead of 2MP.
They've said it's Adrian Flux![]()
You can plug them into the HU as well of course
Not sure about those that come with a rear camera and long cable, seems like a hassle hiding that cable. May as well buy two cameras (if your boot has a 12V point)?!
Very tempted to order that DR32 camera sludgeguts
Think I may literally get killed by the OH though having just spent all of her money on the 500L![]()
There are pros and cons. If you look at some of the footage users have submitted, the cams aren't too bad for the money, it also means that the only thing in your rear window is a tiny cam. I have to say that I do like the size of the front camera on these things as well. I have mine mounted on the front parcel shelf rather than on the screen - so it's far less obvious to others.
The only downside that I have found is the file storage. It seems that the best cards to use are lower class rating as these, apparently, cope better with having two lots of data written to two locations at the same time.
I've ordered one to use at work - to replace the crappy cheapo job I'm forced to use at the moment (see dashcam videos!)
