cheap dash cam?

No, I bought off another seller.
I was looking for that type of cam & loads came up. I then scrolled down the many that were listed & cba to scroll all the way back up again. Same price though - I reckon if truth be known, those sellers have umpteen accounts on ebay.

Wondering whether a small mobile phone emergency battery based charger would be able to keep it on when parked. Just need to find one that has separate charge and discharge sockets and that doesn't turn off with the power cycled on the charge socket.. Will have a look at the ones that I have.

.. Just tested them and my small energiser xp2000 packs do this fine (work like a ups) so may be able to keep the Dr32 going for short parking stops :)

Nope, tried it on both mute and none mute, seems to sometimes work with sound on playback on the unit though. Most strange.

Just an update, found out its the software I'm viewing and editing the video with on my Mac, sound is fine if I update the roar file direct to youtube.

Techmoan just reviewed the top of the range black view

I personally don't think its worth going balls deep and buying this as the video compression is to high, the dr32 is 75% cheaper and has better image quality.

I noticed it the other day. Felt the £200+ price tag was too rich (and, as you say, the DR32 has better image).
I liked the look of the power magic pro though.

Interestingly, there are versions coming in at around £250 and versions at around £120, they all say the same sort of thing and look slightly different, guessing one's an imitation?

I've the same (different rear cam mind). Once I'm a blue moon it'll have a **** fit and say disk full, set menu to auto rewrite and then format the card in the unit.

What size SD card you using? It doesn't like bigger than 8 (or 16 possibly) gb.

kool thanks ill try that , , im useing a 2gb card , dad orded a 32gb for me :)

Mine seems ok. Was a bit iffy on the 32gb Class 4 so stuck a 16Gb Class 10 in and is perfect. Footage was freezing when on the 32gb. Also set it to 2 min clips rather than 5 min.

in settin ive got
bright
exposal
color
auto detect
water mark
audio
auto rec
language
frequency
fill light
shut down time
key tone
auto back light off
g sensor
tv out
date set
format
system info
default set

Cant see auto rewrite , Maby ill have to update it?

Mine's similar but doesn't have the G sensor. I'm getting much better results since I put in a 16gig card.
I have seen (on the web) where the lower class cards (4 or 6) cope far better with multiple file writes (these cams try to write 2 video files at exactly the same time & the higher class cards don't seem to cope too well - whereas they are immeasurably better at writing a single video file each time).

One thing that I have read about the gsensors is that even set to low sensitivity, they often respond to the tiniest blip - so all those potholes will give you a card full to the brim with locked files & no room for the normal files to be stored.

Well, the DR32 came today - and I was working so got the red card through the door. (which I spotted when I came home for my lunch break).
I thought "great, I'll pick it up this aft, I can find a spare few minutes..."
NO, you now have to wait 24 hours before you can pick up at the local office
They used to say a couple of hours.
Soon as I get it, I'll set it up and post the result.
